Amazing defensive play by Mac. In BE play however, that becomes a pump fake and a layup.

I freaking love it. Anyone know who the opponent is and what level he plays at? If Mac puts forth this type of effort consistently on defense, he will take his game to the next level. I think that opponent is a kid named James Akinjo who plays for Georgetown University, a BE school. Different haircut... If that is him talking smack at James like I think it is, that is another next level skill he’s got. Damn!

They know each other too well... since they were at each other throat in that HS all-star camp... I want to see Mac doing that against opponents he's not familiar with... don't get me wrong; it's fun anyway.

They look like brothers playing pickup and swearing up and down not to let the other one get the best of him. Really cool I think the depth of talent on the team this year will make everyone work harder in practice, raise their games, and the team will be the beneficiary. Getting Excited! As Lic says.... "Is it November yet?!?!"

Amazing defensive play by Mac. In BE play however, that becomes a pump fake and a layup. maybe, but he did an outstanding job of moving his feet and taking contact to cut off the drive, which is extremely encouraging to see. reading Twitter reports, sounds like Mac and James went at each other hard and both had some great moments.

Akinjo really struggles around the rim. One would think that with weight training he'd gain upper body strength, learn to absorb contact and finish at the rim.

Akinjo really struggles around the rim. Is this statement based on observation of him at Kenner this year, or just from last season and this clip with Mac?

It's a process James is only 18. He looks stronger, let's see how he looks in November.

They were both at each others throats the whole and pushing shoving and hitting each other. I just got back from the game and it was real - maybe too real! Kenner league overtime clip did not show his misses but it was a grand effort on both James and Mac's part. They both scored around 20.

My take is a little different. I don't think Akinjo will ever have the size or hops to effectively close at the rim on a consistent basis. Those stop and pop, tear drops over the big guys were working much better for him last year...once he finally realized he had to adjust his game. Plenty of ways for James to be effective driving - kick it back out for a three, an inside pass to LeBlanc for a dunk, floaters.... if he remembers to do those things and gets better and better at it, ironically the rim may just open up for him. But he is a hardworker, a smart kid, as determined as they come and he will figure it out.

When James makes that move to the basket and uses his right hand to shoot it's going to be blocked almost every time by anyone with a couple of inches on him . he's has to use the left and at a minimum draw the foul.

I hope Mac and James are just being competitive and there’s not a real riff between them.
