Jamari from all videos, looks to be very skilled. He can handle, bringing the ball up court. He's mobile, has a solid mid range game and can shoot the three. In other words he's dangerous. He would be a great acquisition and probably play the 4 and 3, and be great in the press defense. He would be a great asset!

So I've been sitting back and not saying anything but I think it's time. So where's this scholarship coming from to grab Sibley? Who's gonna leave early or transfer?

I don't have a clue! But,I will reluctantly address this. Given how many freshmen have been drafted into the NBA in recent years, and given how polished Yurtseven is looking, it is not implausible that he could be drafted and free up a spot!
If his trend continues upward and we keep wonning, I believe he will be drafted. That would free up a space. Wahab is looking good....Coach says "he is our future." I believe that Coach can develop Wilson and Igohefe and further develop Wahab and we will be okay! That is a lot of ifs, but possible.

Does anyone think Yurt7 is here next year? He graduates and is likely to get drafted or at least picked up by an NBA team. I never really thought he would be here beyond this year. Am I in the minority on this?

I think Yurtseven will be elsewhere next season. Not saying that he'll be in the NBA, but he won't be on the Hilltop.

He's says it is his only year in this interview referring to being on the preseason watchlist for the Kareem Abdul Jabbar Center of the Year Award. “And this is my last year so it will be great to go out and get it.” features.thehoya.com/ready-to-take-over

As SirSaxa mentioned, in an interview with the Hoya two weeks ago Omer explicitly said this is his last year. Since it will be his 4th year in college, I'm assuming he's on track to graduate, so he's probably looking to play professional basketball no matter what after this season. features.thehoya.com/ready-to-take-over

Agree. I think there's almost zero chance Yurt7 comes back. The only avenue I see for his return, unfortunately, is him having a season-ending injury early on. That's good for no one. I'm rooting for him to have a huge season, helping to bring the younger guys along in practice and getting drafted in the first.

Rosters work themselves out more often than they have to be worked out at schools like Georgetown. If young Mr. Sibley has been watching, Patrick is focusing on versatile wings and doing what he can to use them in different ways. I understand that that isn't exactly a novel approach at this point but, IMO, Georgetown is on the upswing. Guys that sign on and return the team to prominence have a lot to gain. And, assuming Akinjo and Mac are back next year, there's a dynamic, talented, proven backcourt in place to facilitate.

I think Yurtseven will be elsewhere next season. Not saying that he'll be in the NBA, but he won't be on the Hilltop. Yurt is projected to be drafted (mostly in 2nd round) in most of the early mock drafts at this point and his play this season, when he is not in foul trouble, is only going to improve his draft status. The fact that he is on schedule to graduate this year only makes leaving after this year more likely. As someone said, the only thing that I see that keeps him here next year would be some type of injury that would hurt his draft stock. As much as I love having him on the team, he seems to have had a plan for how this would play out, (transfer and have a year of working with Ewing) and I don't see him returning next year. I think the team will have room for at least three scholarships next year and with the way college basketball is these days with kids leaving early and transfers I would not be surprised to see a 4th spot available for a late signing.

Not to beat a dead horse on this one...but it has been posted in other threads that Yurt7 himself has stated this will be his last year. I don't recall the exact source but knowing that coupled with Ewing clearly chasing a 3rd commitment for the 2020 class I would say it is a 99.9% given that we have 3 openings next year.

I could take the 30 seconds to look at what's already posted, but instead I'll just ask: do you guys think Yurt7 will be here next year?!?!

I see some comments recently on social media that there's not enough minutes to go around for Sibley but I beg to differ. Our projecting starting 5 next year should be Akinjo, Mac, Pickett, Leblanc, and Q. Our regular subs should comprise of Alexander, Terrance Williams, Blair/Harris, Myron, and hopefully Sibley. I know that list of subs is missing a center but I see a lot more small ball being played with 2-3 wings/forwards in the lineup. I've also never seen Wilson or Tim on the court so I can't really comment if they will be ready for next year. Once Alexander and Pickett graduate, Sibley will have a ton of minutes and can have a breakout season if he decides to commit to Georgetown. I don't think he will regret it.

Do we know what time or how he will commit? Social media? Press conference? Hats? Smoke signals?

Going to be a sleepless night.
I can tell you that at least three hoyas will test the waters and I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost two of them. Plus we lose another starter in Mosely. If I were a betting man....Sibley would start from day 1. Ewing would get this kid into the league before no time.
