does anyone know if wallace is going to be on scholarship this season or still a walk-on? the way i figured it up is we lost two transfers, with 10 on scholarship in 2004-005.that leaves 8 on ships,we added 4 freshman that makes 12 for 2005-2006 season.with bowman and owens coming back that leaves 1 scholarship is wallace getting it is the question?or does he stay a walk-on? thanks jc. go gu!!!!

JC, I don't think anything has been stated publicly by GU, but most of us are assuming Wallace will be on full scholarship this season, and that he deserves it.

Now I have to disagree with you, SirSaxa! Until GU informs the public otherwise, one must assume the status quo is preserved (i.e. Jon remains a walk-on).
The deserving part is, of course, another matter and I don't think anyone could credibly argue that Jon doesn't deserve a scholly.......

I'm guessing he stays a walk-on for counter issues and the flexibility on recruiting.

I'm guessing he stays a walk-on for counter issues and the flexibility on recruiting. I agree. I think this is an issue that we should not touch on the board. It is being handled internally, and we don't know the details of it and JW's personal situation well enough to offer an informed opinion.

I believe that the status quo of JW being a walk-on will be maintained for at least this coming year. No announcement this late means that its probably either a done deal or close to being one (although I realize I can probably eat a lot of crow for saying that). Of course the amount of time and effort that he has dedicated to this team all speak to the fact that he deserves the scholarship.
