St. John’s has 3 players fouled out and another with 4. Depaul has five players with 4 fouls each. If this game goes to overtime, somebody may be playing 4-on-5!

Probably good for us that Depaul is playing out of their mind today. Ha.

Max Strus goes for 43 as DePaul picks up its biggest win of the last three or four years, 92-83.
Redmen drop to 8-9 with a road game at Xavier remaining. The NCAA committee says, "Not so fast, my friend."

Chris Mullin once again demonstrating qualifications for Big East coach of the year.
Rather play DePaul off a win like this for the Blue Demons than off a loss. Expect that Patrick won’t let the Hoyas look past this game.

Hopefully Strus has that out of his system, and I have no idea how St. John’s makes the tournament now. What a massive disappointment for them.

And have several OOC decent wins. I still think they are in unless they lose to X and in first game of BET

Huge for us. We got 3 of 4 BE results. Now just need Marquette to hold serve against Creighton at home.

SJU with NBA level defense giving up 59 in the second half today. Mullin doesn't seem to have a grip on what they are doing --unless Ponds is on, the offense is just a lot of passing around the perimeter until someone decides to launch a three.

Creighton beating Marquette at Marquette creates a problem of seeding for us in that their last two games (where they are very tough to beat) are at home against Providence and DePaul...with two wins it puts them at 9-9, and if that's where we get to, they have the tiebreaker having swept us...just got to take care of business against a DePaul team with momemtum, and hope for a Cooley miracle in Omaha...

Seeding won't mean a whole lot, based upon how competitive the Big East tournament appears to be this year. The main thing will be to not fall below the #6 seed, so as to avoid having to play on Wednesday. Beyond that, it looks like a real crap shoot this year.

Strus was phenomenal in the second half. I was impressed watching Jalen Hands almost single-handedly bring UCLA back in the second half against Oregon, scoring 27, but Strus put him to shame. 36 in a half is pretty decent.

The supposed knock on Creighton is that they don't play defense, but I thought they played good d against us, and also against Marquette yesterday. Supposedly Creighton doesn't win if they don't score 70, but they did yesterday. If a DePaul win was a must to stay above the 7 seed before, it's really a must now, and then we just hope it's not a 5 way time at 9-9 (pretty unlikely - I don't see Seton Hall winning both games, and Xavier will likely beat St. John's.
Speaking of St. John's, 3-1 against Nova and Marquette, and 0-4 against DePaul and Providence? Mercy.

This article does a really deep dive into the remaining games for the Big East conference, makes predictions, and then talks about the seeding for the Big East Tournament. It's pretty clear now that the conference is really tight, and tournament seeding will affect a lot of how we do in the Big East Tournament I feel.
We should also be rooting for Providence winning their games this week to improve their NET to at least 75, since that bumps our own wins to quadrant 1 and quadrant 2 wins, all the better for our NCAAT resume.
