I hear you Wilson. I just needed to see more from Marvin for me. It wasn't like Corey Maggette coming off the bench for Duke his freshman year. To me, you could see Corey was going to be good. With Marvin, I think he was more hype than actual talent. I think Chris Wilcox had a lot more talent than this Marvin Williams kid. I haven't really seen a whole lot of skill level that Williams supposedly has. ACC guys tend to get more hype then they should. I knew Jay Williams was not going to be great pro before his accident. He had all the hype and Duke love. He struggled with the Bulls his first year and was being out-played by Jamal Crawford at the time. Heck, Steve Blake outplayed him everytime they played Maryland. I like the little things Jeff does, that you can't pick up from a box score or "wingspan" lenght that Jay Bilas likes to harp on. But we will see. I don't think anyone on that Carolina team will be impact players in the league. 1. Marvin Williams > Wilcox no matter how you shape it. What are Wilcox's talents besides being an athletic freak of nature? He was like Jeff Green, minus the sweet jump shot. Wilcox isn't even Charlie Villenueva, he just happens to play a lot harder.
2. Last time I checked, Steve Blake never lead his team almost SINGLE HANDEDLY to a victory over Duke at Duke despite being down 9 with 1:11 left to play. You're being ridiculous. The ONLY time Stve Blake ever pulled something over Williams was whe he stole the ball during that 1 on 1 right before the half during their first match up in 2002. ONLY time.
You have no idea what you are talking about. I'm glad you mention that Duke game against Maryland, I was going to mention it, but I didn't expect someone to erroneously speak out of their mouths. If you actually watched that game, you will know that Jay Williams struggled most of the game with Steve Blake guarding him and Steve Blake also crossing him up on occasion on the offensive end, having Williams on roller skates. Williams didn't do anything of significance until the last minute of the game. Do you know why? He didn't do anything until that time because Steve Blake had fouled out. Once Blake fouled out, you saw Williams "single-handedly" get the win. He didn't do anything before Blake fouled out. So don't tell me what I don't know. I actually watched the games.
Villanueva better than Wilcox?! You have just demonstrated your lack of basketball IQ.
"What are Wilcox's talents besides being an athletic freak of nature?"
What are Williams' talents besides being an athletic, and less of a freak of nature than Wilcox. Tell me.
