You're so beautiful, you could be a part-time schmodel...
The whole reason this thread is off the rails is how removed these simple models are from actual basketball. Great for gambling but not real relevant to actual gameplay.
Butler's efficiency has taken a hit in conference because you can actually affect it. They rely so heavily on Baldwin to make them go that teams have figured out a bit that if you do not let him get to the rim at will, plan b is some combo of bad two-pointers or random wrong people shooting threes. Now some of those threes go, because Butler can generally shoot, but you can't let Baldwin take your heart out.
We only did an OK job at that the first time despite the win. Good game to see how much this team has improved on defense.

Just some random thoughts:
- Jordan Tucker didn’t play in the first game, and he can definitely shoot.
- I feel like every game we’ve played against Jorgensen he’s been ice cold; hopefully that continues
- Jessie has seemed to have some of his best games against Butler; we need him back in form as even though the PC game was better, he seemed to be forcing his offense a bit
- First game we had no Mac, so interesting to see how they guard him
- Will we play another home OT game against these guys, as seems to be our predestined fate?
- I’d like to see Blair play a little more as I really like the threat he brings from deep with the second unit
- Can Greg find his Hinkle magic? It feels like he hasn’t made a 3 since that game
- It goes without saying this is a HUGE separation game for us. Lose and we are potentially back in a glut of 4 and 5 win teams; win and we at worst are tied with St Johns and have a two game lead over every team except the Creighton/Seton Hall winner

One sign of growth in a young team is when it wins the games it is supposed to win. This is such a game and as such it is going to be another huge test for Ewing and his young Hoyas to avoid a letdown at home after some very big games lately. Hoping that McClung and Akinjo continue to play within the flow of the game and do not start forcing shots. Ditto for Mourning. Hoyas win when the offense runs through Govan. Would really like to see Malinowski get back into a groove, adding another deep threat to this team. LeBlanc just needs to keep being LeBlanc--high motor, energizing the crowd and the team. Let's give these kids a home court advantage tomorrow--10,000+.

Well let’s hope he does no better this game.

I would love to see Malinowski hit a 3 early against them to make them fear/think, “Here we go again.”

Greg seems to be forcing the outside shot just a little, as if he feels it is the main reason he is out there, so he shoots whenever he has a sliver of daylight, often without being fully on balance and in rhythm. Just has to let the shots come to him.

The entire athletic department should be fired if they wear teal during a gray out.

I genuinely think we are more talented and better than Butler. Baldwin has struggled a bit in his transition from 2nd or 3rd option to the main guy. Keep him out of the lane and force him into contested jumpers. They really struggle to get to the line and to keep opponents off of it (we shot 32 to their 11 in the 1st game). If we continue playing as we have recently, this really should be a W.

This will be a tough one. Our guys have proven they can handle some adversity. I hope they are ready to handle a little 'prosperity'. Have to come out desperate for the W, because I believe Butler will.

4-0 at home to close the season. That’s the goal. And it’s a realistic one. Then take at least one on the road and we are in very nice shape heading into the BET.

Tucker did play in our first game - 19 minutes, 6 points Scratch that, you’re right. Well let’s hope he does no better this game. Tucker did play the 1st game but he was just getting his feet wet. So to say. He has been playing much better lately but Morko is becoming a wing stopper. Morko on Tucker and Leblanc on MsDermott....if they both start....I don't want Mac guarding Tucker....

Absolute must have. Limit turnovers and grab the defensive borates we win.

Another important game for avoiding Wednesday at BET and finishing 9-9 or better. We’ve improved from the out of conference. Hoping to see that continue.

Hoyas open -2 for everyone that hates the models and wants to profit.
Marquette opens up -1 as well.

Another one that could use a win. If we get to above .500 in the conference, we'd be in good shape to not play on Wednesday. Not going to clinch it, but one that would be a good sweep.
