I just don’t understand our recruiting strategy. We take three centers last year and now we are contemplating taking three point guards. That’s a lot of kids at one position in the same class. Best available only works to an extent. We need a PF and a SG who can drill threes. I have not heard much about the Hoyas actively recruiting Farrakhan lately. They offered him a few months ago but have not seen much activity lately and with Harris and Beard committed, I would think they are either looking for a really highly rated recruit, like Collins to reclassify, or they are going to pursue another post grad guard. Maybe I am wrong and Farrakhan will announce a commitment this week, but I think the staff may have moved on from him now

The offer was made in December of 2018, there hasn't been any sign of late that the staff is interested in him, why are you reposting the information again?

Well I guess as far as we know the offer is still out there, but yeah, the offer was 15 months ago and we have commitments since then from 2 incoming PG's so have to think our interest has expired.

He is also not particularly good at the whole basketball thing, which could hurt our chances of landing him.
Great dance moves though.

Wrong thread? This thread's about a 6'1" PG.

Doesn't look like Georgetown is involved at the moment.

Sorry to crash this thread!! Is there anyone you don't want for the Hoyas? There are players that will help us get to the next level and there are others that will likely keep us stuck in the same cycle of mediocrity if we settle and end up with them.

Rock, Not sure of who I don't want, our needs are great and varied. I trust the coaches to determine best who we need. I voice my opinion like many others such as yourself. When I see what I like, I speak. When the coaches choose otherwise, I respect their decisions. When others make comments I don't agree with sometimes I speak up! The coaches are much more invested in the outcomes than any of the contributors to this board. Peace.

Agree that the team has a lot of needs right now, but it's important that the guys we bring can fill them. If the staff by all accounts has appeared to move on and you fully trust the staff, then you need to move on as well. And if the staff circles back around with a kid who they lost interest in but had to settle for given other misses, then we need to question trusting the staff as presently constructed moving forward. There is no expectation on my part for individual posters to know what's best for the program, but there is an expectation for the staff to do so, and the results thus far are not helping to build that trust.

Can we not post about guys that may or may not have had an offer from us over a year ago and currently have no demonstrated interest?

Can we not post about guys that may or may not have had an offer from us over a year ago and currently have no demonstrated interest? You mean quiet high schoolers that don’t feel a need to tell the whole world every detail of their recruiting?
