Lic, thanks for starting the thread...
Congrats to SSHoya, FrazierFanatic, MassHoya and njhoya78 for the record-breaking four-way tie at 5 points off!
Final score: GU 76-73 SSHoya 78-70 FrazierFanatic 77-69 MassHoya 80-72 njhoya78 79-75
Since we had a tie, we went to the next tie-breaker: Closest to Hoyas' actual score. Therefore, the winner is FrazierFanatic. Congrats!
4 games Previous winners: BSM, AvantGuardHoya and Bigs"R"Us. No winners: vs LMU.
Will we contain Clemons?
GU: 74 Campbell: 61

Good Morning, I am relatively new to the board and trying to understand. It was a three point game. There were several predictions that called a three point GU win, including you pr, and bigelephant was closest to the actual scores. I am sure this has been explained in the past and I missed it. Thank you in advance.

Good Morning, I am relatively new to the board and trying to understand. It was a three point game. There were several predictions that called a three point GU win, including you pr, and bigelephant was closest to the actual scores. I am sure this has been explained in the past and I missed it. Thank you in advance. Hola, hampton, and thank you for your interest and for joining the board. The more, the merrier. This contest was created by other posters who passed the torch some seasons ago. I'm just keeping score right now. Every new season the rules are posted in the first game's thread and are meant to be amended by popular demand. Here's a copy&paste of the Rules portion of that post: "RULES: 1. The WINNNER of each Prediction Thread is the poster: * who correctly predicts the outcome of the game (team win or loss) 2. TIE-BREAKERS are determined by which posters' predictions are: a. Closest to actual margin of victory or defeat (by points off) b. Closest to Hoyas' actual score c. Closest to Opponents' actual score d. Closest to total score e. Cleverness. 2. No predictions after game starts. 3. Scores can be changed up to gametime. Any changes after that point will not be considered. 4. If two posters have the same prediction, the earliest prediction is the one that counts and the other poster’s prediction will be eliminated. For our new posters, here's an example of 2(a): Opponent won with a final score of 91-89. Everyone who picked GU to win is eliminated. Two posters predicted Opponent’s win, with Poster Apredicting 78-66 and Poster A predicting 72-70. Poster A: (91-78) + (89-66) = 13 + 23 = 36 off the actual final score Poster B: (91-72) + (89-70) = 19 + 19 = 38 off the actual final score Thus, Poster A won by 2 points."

Thank you very much PR. I thought I saw the explanation someplace, but couldn't find it this morning. Thank you for the warm welcome. I have been coming to the site for years and decided to join this year. It is great to see so many people with high basketball IQs have differing views and have respectful discussions. Looking forward to one of our better seasons in years.
