LMU 3-0 so far, time to add 1 to the loss column.

They look like they have a 6'1 Senior guard as their primary scorer (got 27 in their win over UNLV). Stick Akinjo on him on defense and let's roll with it.

LMU 3-0 so far, time to add 1 to the loss column. Hopefully the players don't read their press clippings and think they have arrived after a great win last night. Keep grinding and outwork the opponent and they should be fine. I am confident Coach Ewing will be on them and make sure they are ready. It would be great to see another step forward for the team down in Jamaica.

It was a very good road win, but unless Illinois wildly overachieves (possible) then we beat a team that won't even qualify for any sort of postseason play. It was a great atmosphere for our team to grow a bit. It will be interesting to see how the Illini do against the Zags this weekend to really gauge this win. I'm excited about the team, though. At the very least, they will be the most fun georgetown team to watch since the Monroe years.

126 on Kenpom. Not a pushover. For comparison, the Hoyas are 62 on Kenpom and Illinois is 78.

Until then, their intensity will inspire their teammates as well as recruits.

So I understand this correctly, this isn't a "tournament" in the sense that our games are already set against LMU and then USF on Sunday, right?

I am excited to see how the team responds after an emotional road win and then the travel down there. LMU is not bad and can score in bunches, should be a good test for how the team and Coach Pat handle the highs and lows of a season.

We arrived here in Montego Bay yesterday. Didn’t see or hear any violence. The article referenced Kingston which is far from here. Saw Coaches and the team in the lobby about an hour ago, they are here safe and sound. I suspect they were heading up to the convention center for a shoot a round.

Damn, did they fly straight from Illinois to Jamaica? Glad the guys have this opportunity. I hope they enjoy the trip but remain focused on the court.

Well the nice part of having a deep rotation is that if one or two players are not focused this year, the coach has options on the bench who should be eager and ready to contribute. Good start to the year but still a lot to prove and a lot to improve.

I really wish there were better teams in this tournament with how popular Pat is in Jamaica. We should have all the local support. Need to stay focused and pick up two wins. LMU is a much slower team than Illinois. They have a lot of upperclassmen and crash the offensive glass. They have a 7'3" center.

Now, I'm not saying they will beat Gonzaga but everything that I have read makes it seem like Illinois is either NCAA or NIT bound. Their backcourt is deadly and if De La Rosa can show up and be that guy they need inside they are a tournament team.

I spoke with Rich Chvotkin last night, he confirmed they all jumped on a plane and arrived in Jamaica around 430 am, and into rooms around 630 am.
