As good as Mac and Akinjo has been....Leblanc may be the most important. Keep shooting josh. Love your mid-range game.

Done. Old threads don’t disappear, they just cycle off the first page. Checking the 2nd and 3rd pages or simply searching for the player’s name will take you right to them.

So Josh is 5 of 7 from 3 for 71%... Time for the Josh-from-the-perimeter play every game...

So Josh is 4 of 6 or 67% from 3... If he’s dared to shoot from the top of the arc, he’s money! Pat has to exploit the fact that Akinjo, Govan (and Omer) and Josh are money from there. That spot opens up quite often and spaces the defense. I might never shoot from there again to be a career 67% shooter. 😂 It only gets better!

Josh LeBlanc. That guy is the catalyst for this team. Tremendous motor, athletic, not afraid of anyone. Again, my type of guy.

Maybe Josh can be the wing we've been looking for.

Josh is so good and the fact that he's only a freshman is incredible. I doubt we get 4 years of him but I'll be happy with as much as we get. He's not flashy but he was the best player on the team this year and it really wasn't close. He has been underutilized all year. He should've been named BE Freshman POY (and some All BE recognition) but he wasn't because that's not how that works.

Love Josh, great player, great future. NBA potential. But not the best or most important player on the team this year. That would be James.

I am thrilled all three made the Big East freshman team. I love all three of them and think they’ll be a great nucleus for the next few years. That said, I do think LeBlanc gets less attention/credit because his position is less in your face than the backcourt. He also doesn’t have the same gaudy numbers in non-advanced stats.
But I agree he’s the best of the three. But all of them have high ceilings.

I got James in this discussion but I can see why folks would say Josh. Like I said in the recruiting thread when folks were looking at his hl’s and wondering how he would fit he’s the type of guy you have to watch play to understand his value. That being said James has the most on his plate and is the most important imo.
James being on the team let’s Mac be Mac and Josh be Josh. Without him you would be asking these kids to do things that are currently beyond their skill set.

A quick note on LeBlanc's 3pt %:
Josh is currently a career 71% shooter from three. It's a small sample size (5-7), but it's not as small as, say, Roy Hibbert's 3-3 career from deep, and it's leading all Hoyas in percentage, among players with at least 3 3FGA). To me, that's more than enough to make me want to see more.
To put it in comparison, he has: - 1 fewer 3FG than Trey Mourning, in 28 fewer attempts. - 2 fewer 3FG than Nate Lubick, in 25 fewer attempts. - 2 fewer 3FG than Kenny Brunner, in 33 fewer attempts. - 4 fewer 3FG than Greg Monroe, in 26 fewer attempts. - 5 fewer 3FG than Harvey Thomas, in 32 fewer attempts. - 5 fewer 3FG than Nikita Mescheriakov, in 40 fewer attempts.
I'd love to see about 30-40 3FGA from Josh next year, even if it drops his percentage to, say, 50%. That would put a ton of pressure on defenses, and potentially open up even more opportunities for him to crash the offensive boards when he catches his man out in space.
