One of the top three remaining point guards in the class of 2019, Damion Baugh's recruitment continues to be pretty open. The athletic 6-foot-3 playmaker at Memphis (Tenn.) Tennessee Prep has taken official visits to Georgetown and TCU and continues to explore his options. On Sunday, both Wake Forest and Georgia Tech came in to do in home visits and I would look for him to setup a visit with at least one of those two programs, if not both, sometime in the near future. Western Kentucky is also among those solidly in the picture. Others have expressed interest and Baugh remains pretty open to anybody who wants to take a crack at recruiting him. He initially looked like he would be an early signee, but as of now, there is no timetable for a decision put in place and Baugh won't rush anything just so he can sign early. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-five-star-kyree-walker-opens-it-up

If we made our pitch and he is still shopping, there appears to be your sign.

If we made our pitch and he is still shopping, there appears to be your sign. That may be the case and he might just not be sold on Georgetown, or it could be a case where his offer is contingent on what happens with another recruit. If the Hoyas were able to get Ledlum, I would think they would walk away from Baugh. Lots of moving parts with these recruitments and hard to really know who the number 1 target at any position is for a program. Baugh is certainly a really good player and will help whatever program he ends up at next year.

They're completely different in terms of skill sets imo..

Contenders: Georgetown, Georgia Tech, TCU, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky and others.
Early or late: To be determined.
Breakdown: Houston and Florida may have had strong chances, but they are both out now because they have filled needs. Georgetown and TCU have both gotten official visits and made strong impressions. Western Kentucky is hanging around and new teams are starting to show interest. Baugh hasn't yet set any timetable for making a decision and it wouldn't be a surprise if signing day came and went without a decision from Baugh.

I have not seen as many highlights of Baugh, but got the sense he was more of a 2 guard than a point. I think the Hoyas need two wing players in this class but had thought it would be a 2 guard and a small forward. I guess Ledlum could be considered a small forward. I think they are both good players and maybe they are the two wing players they are looking for this year, but I thought a combination of Ledlum, with Gardner or Shannon was more what they were looking to find.

To me Ledlum, Gardner & Shannon overlap much more than Baugh.. Baugh is an athletic defensive minded, attacking ball handler & distributor type player..

Baugh is a 1/2 combo guard. And ledlum, gardner and Shannon are considered 2/3 wings.

Is this Twitter affiliated with the program in any way? Either way, good to have someone out there highlighting recruiting statuses.

In terms of availables, at the point guard spot the three best available prospects are Cole Anthony, Harlond Beverly and Damion Baugh. The next tier after them would be Jalen Williams, Trae Broadnax and Scotty Pippen Jr. In terms of shooting guards, the best available players are Cassius Stanley, Zach Harvey, Lester Quinones, Anderson Kopp and RJ Blakney. 247sports.com/Article/College-basketball-mailbag-Kentucky-Duke-124460370/

Adding more depth to your backcourt and ball handling will always help. Not that is probably matters, coach Ewing has been pretty open about the fact that he likes "combo" guards.

That is a concern. Penny is late getting involved with Baugh, but he has a lot of momentum going down in Tennessee right now with the other guys he has already got committed to Memphis, so if this recruit wants to stay "local" (not sure where is actually originally from) this could be a real option for him. From the reports of his early games it seems like he is breaking out in his senior year and is being more aggressive offensively. would be great to see the Hoyas make a hard push for him and lock him up in the next few weeks.
