Beat me by mere seconds... Fwiw...hearing that from Ledlum's perspective, distance maybe a factor in why Notre Dame isn't involved anymore. Also Stanford tried to get in with Ledlum at one point...

Pure speculation, but have to be extremely encouraged by the proximate timing of an official GU weekend visit and an ND elimination.

Sounds like it might be down to Harvard, Yale and Georgetown. If academics are really the most important thing to him, then he will probably select either Harvard or Yale, but if basketball, along with academics, matters and he wants to play at a more competitive level, then Georgetown should be in a really good spot. Just a few days ago no one seemed to know if the Hoyas would even get a visit and now things are looking much better. Fingers crossed he enjoyed his visit. The only down side would be, a commitment from Ludlum probably signals the Hoyas don't feel like they are in the mix for Lester Q.

Love Quinones game and believe that him & Ledlum,s games would pair well together like a nice cut of filet mignon or NY steak and your favorite cabernet, pinot noir or merlot. So I don't think a commitment (hopefully soon) would eliminate Quinones. Quinones is on a different track as he seems to be locked onto a Spring commitment. Also their is a lot of chatter that he's expecting an offer from Duke and possibly Kentucky. They have quietly been involved but have yet to pull the trigger on an official offer. Some of the talk is that if Joe Girard picks Syracuse over Duke this weekend, Duke will turn all its immediate attention full time on Quinones. Doesn't mean the staff doesn't have a chance with Quinones. But they also can't wait for him and must continue to pursue talented prospects that fits the team needs...

It's certainly good news that ND is no longer in the running, but that news also seems a bit early to be related to his GU visit at all.

Hoyas4Ever what are the rules on this, I've never heard of this tbh... I'll assume it has to be on their dime but are there any other restrictions?

Hoyas4Ever what are the rules on this, I've never heard of this tbh... I'll assume it has to be on their dime but are there any other restrictions? It's really hard to tell based on how the tweet is written. Maybe the initial visit schedule was for Chris Ledlum and his parents to stay until Saturday evening and decided to extend the whole 48 hours allotted and leave Sunday morning. An OV can't be longer then 48 hours starting the minute they step on campus or meet with the coaches on the first schedule day of visit. At the same time doesn't mean the visit has to be 48 hours. If they did decide to extend past the allotted 48 hours, the family pays for their lodging, meals, transportation and cost difference in changing their flight. Basically the time they spend on campus beyond the 48 hours becomes an unofficial visit... To my knowledge, It's very rare for an out of town prospect to extend a visit but it does happen. Most of the time it's weather or emergency related. I've also seen OV's where 2 schools work together because the prospect is piggybacking from one visit to the next. Those logistics become a nightmare to workout but have been done before. Another aspect we don't know that may come into play is if the Ledlum's drove to DC instead of flying. The other times I've seen a family extend past the 48 hours they drove to the OV. The school typically reimburses the family for gas expenses, a slight maintenance kick or rental car as well. If they drove then all they would be responsible for is lodging and food for the extended period they are on campus. Georgetown would be allowed to give them their corporate or friends and family rate at the local hotels. Or maybe the Ledlum's have family or friends in the DMV so they drove up and are staying with them post OV. As you can see there are many factors to consider...

Went to the open practice, and the Georgetown-Nova soccer game. After the Hoyas defeated Villanova (felt good to write that), walked into The Tombs on Saturday afternoon w/ my son and was seated in the lower level next to a group which included staff, recruits and family. My takeaway is that this is an impressive young man who would be a tremendous asset to the basketball program and the University community in general.
