It was an accomplishment just to get into his final three. Don't think there was anything else we could have done to improve our chances.

It was always a long shot that he would come to Georgetown. He seemed interested in Coach Ewing as a possible mentor for him that could develop his game, but it doesn't appear it ever got serious enough for him to come for a visit. Increase the focus on Akok!!

How much does a top-10 recruiting class cost? UT can easily afford 4 of these. Congratulations!

Don't like to give a kid a hard time for staying home. If Gtown could just get half the top kids to stay home, we'd be in the top 10 every year. I love Baker's game and wish him well in Austin. It is a phenomenal place for an athlete to get an education.

Not a big surprise here. It seemed that Texas was going to be his landing spot for the last few weeks. I was glad Georgetown was able to make his final list and I think it shows that Coach Ewing has a recruiting pitch that will resonate with high level players. Good Luck to the young man.
Time to move on the Akok!!!

News out this morning on a Texas kid involved in "the scandal". Maybe NCAA investigations begin, maybe they don't, but perhaps the spring brings a different story.

Did anyone notice that Will Baker is a freshman on the Texas team. He plays about 6 min a game. Last nite he played 8 min got 2 points 3 OR and picked up 3 fouls.

I thought he would look better as a freshman. I’m sure he will adjust.

The Kai Jones kid had one nice dunk and a whole lot of nothing else. You need bigs that will play for 2 to 3 years. A lot of these guys move on too quickly so the 5 star doesn't really help the college program that lands them. The Baker kid looks more like a 3 year player though.

I thought he would look better as a freshman. I’m sure he will adjust. Baker seems to struggle with the speed/pace of the college game, which a lot of young big guys take a while to get adjusted to. It will be interesting to see if he can earn more playing time as the year goes on. Texas could use some offensive help from their big guys and I am sure Coach Smart was hoping it would come from him this year.
