1-1 halftime. Dodson scores the equalizer for Hoyas. Very odd look to the game on Cooper.

Definitely, not least having the lines be red, and barely visible.

Really tough loss for the Hoyas. I was there for the first half, when they seemed to be controlling the ball and keeping it on the Louisville side of the field for long stretches, but had a hard time turning those crisp midfield passes into clear scoring opportunities. On the other side, Louisville sat back on d and seemed to get lots of opportunities on counters.

On the other side, Louisville sat back on d and seemed to get lots of opportunities on counters. The compressed pitch was no help, but that game was decided by one loose touch of the ball. It happens when you play high-level opponents. The boys need to cash more chances so they are not always in such tight games. The talent, coaching and style of play are there for great success.

What's worse... with the end of the Federal fiscal year turning my brain to mush, I completely forgot about the whole "overtime" thing and turned the stream off at the end of regulation

Hoyas up 1-0 at half on a goal by Dylan Nealis.
Huge P.K. save by Giannis to preserve the lead just before half.
Let’s go boys. Bring it home.

2-0 final. Nice tidy road win. Still need to finish better.
Giannis is gong to be a star.

Scoreless double OT draw with the Twerps today.
21 shots for Hoyas. We just can’t seem to consistently finish.

Strassner Double OT game winner as Hoyas beat Nova 2-1.
Ethan Koehler solid inngoal as Giannis was on National Team duty with Greece.
Still need to do better job finishing as Hoyas had 27 shots.

Kind of an all-over-the-place game from all parties. Some moments of exceeding quality, some moments of utter slop. Referees include - seriously, I've never seen a lineman throw up the offside flag on a back pass and then get berated by two dozen people before (he knew he messed up and acknowledged it quickly, but still, yikes!).
The culmination of the slop was the Villanova player simultaneously committing a handball and hurting himself just above the half-circle, leading to the game-winning sequence in 2OT. Should've never come to that, but the separation among men's teams in the Big East appears to be as small as ever. Villanova deserves full credit for their wonder-strike of a goal, just as they deserve the opprobrium for giving up a PK by fouling a fullback and then making an utter meal of multiple situations thereafter. In any case, with the margins to slim, these three points are especially crucial.
Regardless, any win over Villanova is satisfying. Congrats also to Captain Zajac and Game-Winning Goal-Scorer Strassner for picking up some hardware this weekend! Welcome to 2018 lol

Big game at 2 pm today in South Orange. Boys need this win to stay in the mix for a title.
