I think we need to send a few coaches down there to check things out. There's a team down there, Northside High(Jacksonville, NC), that just had a 59 game winning streak snapped in the state championship, and that's after moving up a division. I hear their team is not tall but they play up tempo offense and Classic Hoya full court press defense.
There's also some pretty good female talent down there, mainly at Jacksonville High and Havelock. Jacksonville fell short in the state championship this past weekend. They've won about 50 games the past two seasons. My high school classmate is the coach.
While we're down there, pick up some football players! Northside and Havelock are a year removed from the state championship, and lots of area schools routinely make deep runs into the playoffs!
We have to start turning over some rocks for talent because it's definitely out there!

North Carolina, and specifically eastern North Carolina has been the most talent rich basketball region in the world per capita. Pete Maravich, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, etc

North Carolina, and specifically eastern North Carolina has been the most talent rich basketball region in the world per capita. Consider that Pete Maravich, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, etc etc played in the same league in high school. Pretty sure that would be PG County...and a much easier trip for our coaches.

But there is a lot of talent in North Carolina that goes under the radar.

Joe Touomou was from Williamston via Cameroon use to go by his high school on my way to Havelock NC more rural than Gate City. Jordan was from Wilimington NC Pistol Pete was out of Raleigh before Press took the job at LSU.
Still alot of talent in the Hampton Roads area always seems to be a couple of under recruited kids out of there who surprise at a high level.
