I do remember those but I think he actually created them. Not the copy and paste from a a youth basketball web site. I still have piles of the same thing from clinic handouts going back years. Oh, I can confirm the dude with the RBB writeup had put that altogether on his own.

No matter what post you here some will try to twist it up to their own ridiculous mindset. The IGNORANCE IS REAL. This is where it all starts from youth to pro's!!! All coaches still say all these same things on every level. How ridiculous can you get! LOL! It's all fundamentals. In baseball good hitters still go back to the batting tee. But now you say you still have piles of the same thing from clinic handouts going back years, but still don't know? EtomicB Look, if you've never coached or played this game before it's okay, you can learn more here lol. But stop making yourselves look foolish is all I'm saying. Isaiah Thomas still talks about the fundamentals of point guard play hmmmm.... I've even written numerous times about point guard play myself especially in my blogs, so what are you saying? If your lost? I can help you. Like Magic says, "in order to be the best, you have to learn from the best." Don't mean to keep embarrassing you, but you keep asking for it. Hahahahaha...

Glide, you have no idea what or whom I'm referring to. Those who have been around long enough on these boards will understand the bit of self deprecation going on now. It's all in good fun.

As far a hype for an incoming player, Tremont Waters had hype but never played for the Hoyas. The last player at the guard position I remember with this much hype coming in on this board and played was DSR .

What do you guys see this kid averaging next year? IMO it's not even about scoring for me. As the point guard, I just want Mac to make his teammates better, and make good decisions on the ball. He'll only need to score when he's open and maybe a lil bit more. But 10/12, 5 to 6 assists, a few rebounds is all I'm asking for. As long as we get the win with those stats I'm good lol.

Tremont is water underneath the bridge, etc. LOL... I really liked Bracey as well though. DSR, I think most didn't know he wasn't a true point guard. At times he would play like one, at times he wouldn't.

What do you guys see this kid averaging next year? 6-10 ppg. Just handle the ball handling duties and hit the open shot. If we had anyone who was a threat to handle the ball & both score, Govan & Derrickson would have given opposing coaches nightmares. #1 priority is to open the floor up and just be a threat.

Across all levels (LM-HM) there's probably around 5-7 freshman in the country that put up a stateline of 10pts and 5 assists...

I’m not goIng to look to see if that is true, but even if it is Mac could hit those numbers. I would imagine getting the assists will be harder than the points, but Govan, Marcus & Pickett will be on the other side of his passes, plus I expect a lot of fast-breaks.

According to espn.com, only two Hoyas have averaged 5+ assists since the 2001-02 season. Braswell in 01-02, and Wright in 10-11. Obviously we played a different system at a different pace during most of those years, but still, let's temper expectations a bit.

Hopefully you're right but the exact number is 7 and 3 at HM's. Waters (LSU) Trae Young (OK) Shai Alexander (UK) Duval (Duke) just misses the cut but he's so close we could throw him in there also. Recap: 8 kids total 4 HM's (2 5*s) Average ranking of the 4 HM guards that are 10 and 5 guys is #23 in the nation... Lowest ranked prospect is Waters at #38.

I will say 10 & 5 recognizing that puts him into elite company.
Part of me says the 5 assists will be harder for him though I think feeding the ball to elite scorers like JG and MD will be a tailwind for that stat as will our fast breaks.
He might be able to get 5 of the 10 from the free throw line just driving to the hole so it does not seem like a crazy ask....before you even consider fast breaks or a 3 pointer.

Let's not forget what we need the most out of point guard. Decision making especially during critical moments (end of game situations).

I think what I'm saying is a or any point guard that puts up those numbers has done his job. This is not just coming from me. It's a fact. If Mac can do this night in and out he's done his job.

I think the difference Mac knows how to feed the post with lob and bounce passes. His vision is off the chain as well. Especically in transition.
