From MSG Section 222: I come here to Hoyatalk and keep reading people saying Cooley is overrated. I’m sorry, the dude can coach. Anyone selling tickets around you? I'm looking for 3 for tomorrow.

Rats - you’re 15 minutes late - the angry Xavier septuagenarians just unloaded theirs and left. I got these on ticketmaster resale this morning at just over face (not counting the TM ‘service’ charges).

I'm just a few sections from you, and they were not enjoying their experience. I will say -- poetic justice the Macura's play in the Garden ends with a dubious charge call in the closing minutes...on him.

I will say, this Villanova team is incredible. Providence plays a mean defense though. I think tomorrow is going to be an interesting contrast in styles. If Providence can make Villanova play their game, they could win.

Butler can't hang with Villanova at all. Villanova can shoot with ease, and even bad plays turn into made buckets.

Cooley gets the most out of his players in the conference and it's not even close. He took Bryce Cotton who nobody else wanted (Providence was his only offer very late in the summer) and made him a BIG EAST Tournament MVP and made money in the NBA. For those that put stock in recruiting rankings, Cartwright was a low 3 star guard and made him one of the best PG in the conference by his Jr. year. He and his staff develop the heck out of his players. What they were able to do with Bentil no one saw coming. Now he's getting top 40 prospects...the rest of the BIG EAST is on notice. I think they are the program to be worried about going forward along with Villanova, not Xavier. Hard not to cheer for Cooley when they aren't playing Georgetown. Side Note: Feels like we have our BIG EAST Villain Coach in Chris Mack. He reminds me so much of a young Boheim...

He blew a double digit halftime lead against Providence. Couldn't beat Villanova, even on his own floor. Not sure he will be around this league for very long. (Ducks and runs)

Kept thinking about how much better the crowd atmosphere would have been last night if Seton Hall had been playing instead of Butler. I also think SHU and St John’s being out has softened the resale prices a bit. The Xavier people behind us only got $50 for their seats for the final.

Enjoyed the Providence-Xavier game, but the Nova-Butler game was not that exciting. Agree that the absence of locals hurt. Have to say either the BE is not as talented as we thought or the Hoyas are just not that far from being a top half team in this league. Of the final four, the Hoyas should have beaten Butler twice, Providence twice and Xavier once. I tend to think the league is a little worse than its rankings but let's see how it performs in the tournament. Heading home today to wait until next year. Hope Ewing can plug the remaining holes in the next few months.

If you want tickets off the street go see Pudge usually working the corner of 7th and 31st on the Garden side ask any of the his guys working in front they will find him. Been dealing with him for 20 plus years at Garden and Yankee stadium usually to upgrade. He can be trusted.

It didn't really help in the second game that most of the Providence and Xavier fans left after the first game. Those who stayed never really had much of a reason to get into the underdog. The Garden came to life in the second half of the first game. Pretty much everyone around me got behind Providence and was pulling for them to complete the comeback. Villanova took Butler out so quickly the place just never could get into the game. The Final tonight should be pretty good, though. Providence seemed to have a lot of fans in the building, and Villanova traveled really well.

Love the culture he has established and his investment in his players. Last night was first time in years that I felt really thirsty to get back into this competition. In the past couple of years, I just felt depressed — just disinterested — not angry or mad but definitely apathetic. I think next year will see a mix up in league standings. I think if Mullin can hold his team together and with the additional recruits, St John’s should do well. I really think we will be in the mix, but the not necessarily top spots. PE has shown real promise as a developer of players and I’m hopeful about the culture change he is trying to bring.

The other thing I noticed in the second game last night was that Butler’s coach walked the sideline with his arms folded, pretty much expressionless, virtually the entire first half. Obviously I wasn’t close enough to hear what he was saying (if anything) but it seemed a curious reaction to his team getting shredded. I haven’t watched enough Butler games to see if that’s his usual approach but if a Hoya coach did that shredding would be a kind description for the reaction here.

Tickets are around 120 on stubhub right now.

I think this is good for the Big East because it ensures that Providence is in the tourney and gets a higher seed. And X will still get a high seed.
