We do need one. But I wouldn’t reach on someone just to add a warm body. I wouldn’t say those guys were overlooked. I’d say Hoyas chose to go in a different direction. If you wanted to argue talent evaluation then I’m 100% on board. Trust me. They were overlooked especially Jenkins. Personally, I know the kid he wanted to come to the Hilltop. He let us know when we played Villanova the last few years he's been there. Josh as well. Reach on someone to add a warm body??? Pls explain. Thanks. A reach...someone that wasn’t recruited by some of the bigger schools because there were better players available. Now I get guys develop at different stages. My point has always been if a overlooked player starts to get recruited now by the Hoyas, why didn’t we look to recruit him a year ago? Why are schools desperate for a pg scrambling to get in with a kid when they were open 6 months ago? Generally it’s because they weren’t good enough. Not saying that’s the case here as I don’t know. You need to be recruiting juniors in the spring, not seniors.

Upon Tremont's request, Pat let him go. The request was made to JT3 long before he was fired. JT3 wanted Waters to still stay at Gtown. I don't know if it was a Tre's request from what I've heard. It is what it is. Either way, Tremont Waters publicly requested a release from his LOI when JT3 was still the coach.

You need to be recruiting juniors in the spring, not seniors. This. players change. You think Unc and Duke wish they had recruited Stephen Curry now. he was not good enough at that moment as a junior. you keep bringning up Jenkins like he wasnt 260-275 playing at Gonzaga. He went to 5he rightvplace cause we sure did not get Josh Smith to lose the weight. As i see now Jenkins is out of basketball because he is fat again, his turkisk contract was voided because he was overweight.

Either way, Tremont Waters publicly requested a release from his LOI when JT3 was still the coach. Exactly and JT3 did not grant the release, but decided to leave it to the new administration.

The young man was insulted with the Kemba Walker comp, hilarious. Kemba had one of the most successful collegiate careers you could dream of and has done quite well as a pro.

I just fell off my chair. If we end up with a player named Sherwyn (no matter how he spells his name), I will freak out. LOL. Why is that? Because my name is Sherwin, and there aren't many of us around.

Kid could easily be one of the best point guards in the WCAC #1 in blue vs. SJC and Morsell

Y'all keep sleeping on these kids right in our backyard. Everytime we sleep on these kids they throw it right back in our faces. Every single time.

This is peak Glide. Comparing a MEAC level kid to top 100 recruits and then acting like he is the missing piece to bring up back to the promise land all while rattling off 4 straight 6 word posts. Never change Glide. Never change!
But really change.

This is peak Glide. Comparing a MEAC level kid to top 100 recruits and then acting like he is the missing piece to bring up back to the promise land all while rattling off 4 straight 6 word posts. Never change Glide. Never change! But really change. I DON'T think you know the game of basketball to be honest with you. He's a SLEEPER because he's a public school kid who transfer from his previous school but plays on a very high level at the point guard position. Who said he's a MEAC level kid. Do you know this kid? Have you seen him play. Do you know what to look for in a point guard? Did you read the full article? Did you know that DMV basketball players are the most recruited kids in the USA? McClung I feel is the missing link to bring us closer to what we need. WINS! This kid Sherwyn would be a great back up. His team is ranked at #9 in the DMV. This is huge. He's one of the best point guard's in the area. He's played against most of the top level guard in the area and has more than held is own. There are folks here that know I know my stuff especially when it comes to point guard play. I'm excited about this kid because I know what the Hoyas have been missing for a very long time. Are you this ignorant to call me out on so called "rattling off 4 straight 6 word posts?" You sound like a foolish hater. Never change from what? What I know that you don't know? As far as I'm concerned he's Devonish is just as good as any so called top 100 recruit as a point guard. Maybe you learn the game so you'd have your own knowledge on the game of basketball and point guard play? Devonish can be one of the missing pieces to bring up back as well as McClung. Maybe you need you need to change. You don't even know me. Don't embarrass yourself here. #9 in the DMV along with PVI's Anthony Harris. Got it? www.washingtonpost.com/sports/boys-basketball-top-20-iac-wcac-set-to-crown-champions/2018/02/19/14173a4e-14ee-11e8-942d-16a950029788_story.html?utm_term=.9063619e71e5 WAKE UP! Just because the kid was offered smaller schools doesn't mean he's not a high division 1 level player. Who are you and where are you from? Averages 18.8 points per game www.washingtonpost.com/allmetsports/2017-winter/wise/boys-basketball/?utm_term=.664a9e370542He says he's not done waking "them" up!

Personally I think this kid is exactly what we should be looking for to add backcourt depth.
Good Size at PG Local More of a "true" PG than McClung
...and I think the advantage for us is if we are his biggest offer and hes under the radar he will be willing to come off the bench, earn his minutes, chance to be the starter down the road, become a 4 year player...and he just looks like he has solid bball IQ and is a player.
I think he is the perfect match for what we are trying to do and what we are looking for and need for 2018.

I'm on record saying I don’t want anything to do with under the radar types, the take a chance on late bloomers. It’s what has help cripple the program. If this is the best the Hoyas can do, then we should be packing it in. I am far from a talent evaluator so it strikes me as odd that nobody else is looking at him.

Did you see the videos and the writing on this kid? He's not a later bloomer. He's a transfer. His school is ranked #9 in the DMV. No, this does not cripple a program. What cripples a program is not going out and getting pieces you need to your puzzle that's been hurting for many years. If this is the best the Hoyas can do??? There are sleepers out here and it is surprising for high level D1 schools not to be looking at this kid. This is why I say offer him up LOL! I do think I'm pretty at evaluating talent especially point guard play. Been doing this for so long. I never heard of this kid as well, but I did a lot of research on him once I found out. He's exactly what the Hoyas need.

A major sleeper. He says he's not done yet! I think most of us in here are sleeping on this kid as well. It all makes sense. He's a true point guard, his team is ranked 9 in the DMV, has a high bball iq, gets to the rack. Makes heady decisions on the ball. Floater. Defends well on the ball. My goodness and more....i'm going to his PG COunty championship game on Thursday.
