Off the record here. Tremont Waters does ot again. Hits the game winner vs. Mizzou. The thing about it he calls for the ball to win games. Cold blooded. This would be a perfect post for the Pro and College Sports page. Or maybe even the Tremont Waters thread on the Recruiting page. Not sure what it has to do with discussion of the Georgetown Xavier game.🤔 Maybe I just felt like posting this here. You mad? I did mention "off the record." Seems to have gotten your attention and MCIGuy, LCPolo18 hahahahaha.

It's just that when I see that somebody has a new post on the Hoya-Xavier game I go to the thread to see what they are saying about that game, and when it not only has no connection to the game, but is also directly related to other thread, I can't help mentioning it. Just trying to help keep everyone on track with the big game coming up.

Opening line, Xavier -5.5 Not bad considering the #8 team in the conference vs. #4 in the country. We absolutely can do this.

We are really hard to peg right now in terms of how we are likely to perform. I will say Butler looked quite good tonight against Creighton. Games like that only go to show what an accomplishment the last win was. We have had plenty of time to practice. Hope we are ready. Another big week for this team is setting up.

I've seen other's do the same thing as well and you've said NOTHING. Again, out of respect I did mention, "off the record." I know we have other threads with this on there, but I was chilling out and felt like posting this right there. I didn't feel like going to over to the other thread. Just trying to keep everyone on track with this game coming up is an excuse. WE know we're playing Xavier tonight. Crazy. You shouldn't have written a word there'd be none of this back and forth BS. You say you're too old for this??? I regress. LCPolo18 MCIGuy BigmanU.

Big game...Xavier's coming in a little wounded. Hoyas pounce tonight. A win here would help in recruiting efforts as well.

I don't have time to do it every time someone posts something that has nothing to do with a particular thread - I would have to quit my job and never sleep. Anyway - game day. Back on track. Continue our good play of late and we can take down #4. Would definitely make this season a success, all things considered.

A huge opportunity for a signature win for the Hoyas tonight against a really good Xavier team. Having the week to prepare I think is very helpful for the Hoyas. I have been really impressed all year with the game plans the staff has come up with on how they attack opposing teams and think that is a real strength of coach Ewing and the staff. The team comes in ready and with a good idea of what they need to do in order to compete, then it just comes down to the confidence and ability to execute at the end of games. It would be a big upset if they pulled it off tonight but would also be a major step forward for the program,

Hope we get a good crowd tonight. The crowd for Seton Hall was pretty solid. not huge (I think it was a little over 10K) but pretty engaged. It feltl like a real, serious college basketball game. The 6:30 start crowds are usually a little thin at tipoff, but can fill in pretty well by 7-7:15. Especially hope that there is a decent student turnout. This is a big game against a top 5 national team, with the Hoyas playing their most exciting stretch of basketball in a few years.
Xavier has won a disproportionate number of close games this year, and their defense is poor for a top 5 team. Definitely beatable. But if we are not sharp, they'll blow us out. They have been pretty consistent this year, they are unlikely to throw up a clunker. When Blueiett had his shooting slump in January, they still maneged to keep winning. Now Blueiett is shooting well again, so we are unlikely to catch any breaks. We obviously have a shot at winning, but we'll have to earn it 100% to hang with a team this solid.

The Hoyas need three scorers to be in the game tonight. Given that Xavier is probably going to collapse down when the ball gets inside, our success depends on effectively handling the double teams while one of Pickett or Blair hits from outside.
It sure would be nice if both Pickett AND Blair could get going in the same game.

Xavier's a bit wounded. I think we'll see an inspired performance by the team. Hoyas pull the upset. Our program's upward trajectory continues.

It will always take a team effort not just 3 scorers.
