Jessie can and probably will have one of the best games of his career on Saturday!

No, Campbell would have been dumped on just like he was when he played. The conversation would have been about how inept the upper classman guards Campbell, Mulmore & Dickerson were. All Tre needed was a good point guard coach. It's all we ever needed.

Put Kaleb on Blueitt. I am not sure who we have that can check Macura. I think ultimately we don't have the offense to beat these guys but if the freshman hit threes we will have a shot.

I'm looking at three things. One, how does Jesse look. Not just how he performs but how he physically looks. I keep thinking he looks sick but have to assume that staff would have ID'd any health issue. Two, how our kids perform. Specifically can Pickett, Blair, and Mosley continue to show improvement. Three, can MD continue to impress. Obviously I hope we win but this, and the next 8 games are all about next year. I want to be able to look back on this year and see a light at the end of the tunnel. And unless Jesse stays healthy, MD continues to score and rebound, and the kids continue to grow, that light just might be the Nova juggernaught going for it's 3rd (?) straight BE title.

Nova guard Brunson is just too much for any team. Loves how he controls and manages the tempo of a game.

Do not recall ever seeing that statement befoređ I understand that Tre wasn't exactly the second coming of Chris Paul, but, given what we've seen from the backcourt this year, it's pretty reasonable to think we might have won some or all of the close losses with him. I'm just talking basketball here, not any other stuff. What other stuff? He could play. Would have loved to see him play in this system, he would be a great help. I don't know what prompted the decision for him not to be a part of the team this season? What factored in, injury? Does anyone know?

Right- there should be open threes for Derrickson, Blair, and Pickett if they move and work to get open. I am more worried about getting them the ball without throwing it away!!! I love how McClung moves well without the ball and is always in triple position as well.

The best 2 PG's JTIII had was Chris Wright & Markel Starks. Both players won a lot of regular season games but did not have post season success though Chris Wright was on 2 teams that lost in the BE Championship game.

Yes, somewhat because they weren't true point guards, but for the most part got the job done. Decision making killed us especially near the end of the FGCU game. Man I was devastated. Now, take in mind FGCU's crowd, band and cheerleaders sat in front of them, but Hoyas fans and band/cheerleaders sat behind or on the side of our team. The Hoyas players could hardly hear us cheering for them. This was major I thought. Our fans including me were screaming our lungs out and the team could hardly hear us. They definitely couldn't see us. SMH! Anways, the Hoyas did have a chance to comeback and win this game, but I knew decision making would probably play a huge part in this and unfortunately it did. Starks. I guess I have to watch this whole game because I didn't see the game on TV because I was there. But this will be the first time I've watched the full game. YIKES! With 2:42 to go in the game the Hoyas pulled with 9 points. Starks picks up a steal and gets fouled in transition going to the basket. Markel makes one free throw then misses the next one smh. 64-56. The Hoyas press right afterwards. Bowen fouls. FGCU makes one free throw. 65-56. Starks comes down gets inside the paint but instead of shooting a floater he kicks it out to Trawick and he misses but Otto grabs the rebound puts it back up Bowen tip in. Score 65-58 with 2:01 remaining in the game. Comer comes down and throws an alley oop. 67-58. Bowen gets fouled knocks down two free throws. 67-60. 1:48 left to go in the game. Porter fouls with 1:36 left. FGCU makes one free throw. 68-60. DSR, instead of going to the basket with 1:22 left chucks up an ill advised 3 pointer smh. Elmore even said to get a quick two points, but Starks as the point should've known this but instead passed the ball off to DSR smh. Take in mind there was enough time on the clock to do so BUT Trawick grabs DSR miss for a rebound and knew to kick it back out to Starks and he gets another chance to make a good decision but he gets fouled with 1:19 to go. Shoots to make both free throws. 68-62, 1:19 left in the game. Bowen fouls (5th) but the foul call should've been on Starks. Bowen really stole the ball though. OUCH! FGCU to the free throw line to make both free throws. 70-62, 1:16 remaining. Starks comes down and nails an NBA range three pointer! 70-65. Domingo fouls. FGCU to the line. 1:04 to go FGCU makes both free throws 72-65. Starks comes down to another three pointer with .54 left on the clock 72-68 FGCU still up. DSR quickly fouls FGCU to the line they go. .51 to go in the game DSR fouls out. FGCU makes on free throw 73-68, but Starks although he knocked down two previous clutch three pointers should've recognized he still had .44 seconds on the clock to get to the basket for two points or a foul but instead chucked up another three pointer and missed. Hoyas foul and put FGCU on the ft line with .38 seconds to go in the game. FGCU makes both free throw 75-68. With .31 left instead of getting to the basket Porter shoots and misses a three pointer. Comer is fouled and their fans start to celebrate. Comer knocks down both free throws. 77-68. Starks comes down, drives to the basket and turns the ball over Hopkins fouls FGCU sends them to the line again. 78-68. Might as well say game over, but decision make under 2 minutes killed us.

Great quotes by Jagan in that WP article taking ownership of the mistakes by the guards and challenging himself and his fellow guards to perform like they're taught... Spoken like a true leader of the team!

I found a copy of Tragedy and Hope in a used bookstore last week. Mint condition. Picking it up rekindled pure paralyzing fear in the pit of my stomach. Brought it home anyways.
