Walker is not a 3? Not sure of what he is except a player. I believe he likes to play on the exterior, but we need him inside. I thought he played the SF at Woodson and Hargrave. Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong.
No big deal, but he's a player. He was recruited by III, and I think he brings a lot to the table. I really have not seen enough of him to say what position he plays. Watching him at the Kenner League did not convince me of any position except to say, he's a player, is competitive, confident and can jump out of the gym. He and Tre Campbell were together a lot this summer.
I think Tre could have helped us this year, I watched him at SJC, and he was/is a good player. Too bad he got hurt, and whatever else, if anything happened, such that he is not playing this season. I am not advocating going into that at all.

We are already lacking in ballhandlers and creators -- having Kaleb and Walker as your 2/3 is basically punting. He's also not an outside shooter, so you are killing a lot of your spacing. Right now his assets primairly involve his effort level and much of that comes inside -- we are already struggling to always incorporate two bigs -- and both of those guys have more perimeter skills than Walker right now. His skillset is of a big and we need more perimeter skills in our starting lineup, not less. Even if you disagree with all that, he's literally our only playing backup at the 4/5. If he, Govan and Derrickson play a lot of minutes together, there's no one to actually backup. To be clear, I think he deserves more time, on effort level alone. And I think he can develop to play more than be a hustle guy down low. But he an asset as a hustle guy right now, and he wouldn't be an asset as a perimeter player right now.

Antwan is our best (only) frontcourt option off the bench. Let him do that. Jessie and Marcus shouldn't be playing more than 60 minutes combined on most nights (despite what Pat says). From what I've seen so far, Walker should be getting at least 12-15 of those remaining minutes every game.

At least he could shoot, but didn't have the toughness on a consistent basis to attack the basket.

This is a joke! Let them take their licks this year??? The already are lmao. smh. No, perfect practice makes it perfect - Morgan Wooten. Sounds better right? Nice try. What is "perfect practice", my friend? Perfect practice.

The fact of the matter is they are going to take some licks this year. All I am saying is let's let them go through the growing pains. Pickett will be fine; the other freshmen will be fine. However, not this year. yeah

We have guards that attack the basket, but can't finish, dish or hit the pull-up. 🙄

Am I the only one who thinks Walker should actually never play the 3 in his career?
I saw his HS highlights and he looked like a classic 3. But seeing him now, he looks like he could easily add weight and be an athletic 4 which is probably better for everyone.

Very early, way too early to make this assessment about Walker. I dont think he's 6-9. He could be but that measurement surprised me. Not that that makes a difference. If he is 6-9, sure I could see him as a 4.
