Do we really need another small forward. Taking him we would only have one scholarship left. We need a big and a pg..... Mourning, Pickett, Johnson. Govan, Derrickson, Mosley, Blair, Carter, LeBlanc, McClung, Walker... Did you not watch the “game” yesterday? We need talent and we need it yesterday. Tucker more than fits that description. Hoping our performance and tepid crowd support yesterday doesn’t scare him off.

I thought we’d settled this debate. Take him and move on.

True we need talent but don't you think we need talent at the center and point guard spot than at small forward.

True we need talent but don't you think we need talent at the center and point guard spot than at small forward. We need talent everywhere at every position because our two most talented players are juniors this year, and we lose our rental backcourt of Mulmore and Dickerson. But even if Tucker comes, which I really hope he does, we have two remaining scholarships for a big and a pg. While still having 2, if not more scholarships for 2019.

Hoping for a decision sooner rather than later. Kid needs to enroll and take classes soon. Maybe transcripts and paperwork need to be sorted and reviewed.

True we need talent but don't you think we need talent at the center and point guard spot than at small forward. Absolutely we do! But we're not taking him at the expense of a point guard or a center. If it was an either or we take a guard sure but that's not the situation. Hoping we get good news today

This isn’t a situation where we have 1 ride left and we have to make a decision on Tucker or a pg. This is a no brainer. And there are 2 scholarships available if he comes on board.
In fact his potential commitment to the Hoyas will make the program more attractive to other top recruits. Guys want to play with talent.

That's debatable if he is better than Pickett. Mourning doesn't play the same position as Tucker. Right now, Pickett basically does nothing well (yes, he might have potential but the jury is out on whether it develops) and is basically no better than Reggie Cameron was. This isn’t a high bar for Tucker to cross.

Getting a point guard is a must this yr. Hoyas already have their PG of the future signed in McClung. I highly doubt the staff is looking for 2018 class freshman PG to go along with McClung. No McClung isn't your table setting PG, but from what Ewing said when he got the job, he's not looking for a table setter in his PG's. He wants Kemba Walker type PG's to run his offense. Kemba is a scoring PG that can make plays for others. There are plenty of these scoring PGs in the conference like Howard and Rowsey at Marquette, Carrington (Seton Hall), and Baldwin who plays the majority of the PG minutes for Butler. McClung is more suited for the role of a scoring PG that can make plays for others than a pure table setter/facilitator type. Obviously Mulmore is more of a facilitator because he lacks elite confidence in his perimeter game and the team's strength is getting the ball to its BIGs. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff pursues a 5th year free agent PG to balance out the roster to go along with McClung and Mosely who can slide in give quality minutes.

Dude I don't think McClung is our answer at point.
I would be all for another transfer pg. Give the other guards another older seasoned guard to learn from.

I agree with this, PE has said on a few occasions that McClung is his pick for lead guard.. The team still needs to land another handler in this class though imo, I'd shy away from the 5th year route..

We are the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. Of course we need more shooters. One is not enough!

Even if you believe in McClung, with Mulmore and Dickerson leaving, we'll be awfully thin at the lead guard spot. Mosely, Blair, and McClung really aren't enough. I'd say taking Tucker and pursuing another guard either through the 2018 class or the grad transfer route in order to bolster depth is a near-necessity.

Between McClung, Carter, Malinowski and possibly Tucker, we should improve our shooting dramatically. With Dickerson and Mulmore, it could be addition by subtraction.

I mean, come on, how could we even be still seriously debating this one after the game we saw yesterday. Don't get me wrong, we have talent now, but, let's face it, this is the New Big East. Coaching is phenomenal; all the big dawgs outta high school want to play in this conference. this is college basketball at the highest level. I have been a Hoya fan since 1982, and I am here to tell you, I have never seen the likes of what I am seeing in Marquette, Villanova, and Creighton. We practically built this conference. There is no way we can now become the laughing stock of the conference. We have to enlarge the vision, my friends, develop a sense of urgency, and be able to see the lay of the land. Peace, I am out.
