Good win. Who called it if we had under 15 TOs we win?! Impressed with the disparity at the FT line on the road.

Congratulations to Coach Ewing, his staff and the team. I honestly didn't know if it was realistic or fair to expect this roster to win a road game in the Big East this year. We've got one. Congrats Hoyas!

NIce win. Impressive composure and free throw shooting down the stretch.

13 turnovers and 9 made threes. Big improvements and more like what we need for a chance at success.

Do you want to play for me? Lol Old school . I love it! Early in this #Hoyas win, Coach Ewing had a question for Derrickson: "Do you want to play for me?" 24pts, 7reb, 3ast, 1blk & perfect 10-10 from the line...I think he said yes, casualhoya. t.co/6BCMwZAraU

Dont know what Jamorko needs to do to get in sync. He looks like he's growing physically on the court. At some point it will all come together. Physically he looks like Giannis A...really these are growing pains. He's good on D, and his sweet spot is in the corner.

Jessie remained #3 in the nation in rebounding; this game doesn't hurt this. Doc is in the top 25 (tied for 23) in FT%. This game probably moves him up a bit. Players hitting their FTs at a remarkable rate with 32 with FT% at 90% or above (Marcus was 90.9% coming in).

Hit a three, had a big deflection from behind, solid at the line late. Growing pains, but he will be a player.

I thought the patience in the post was excellent. Jesse and Marcus were daring the double to come and much more effectively dealing with it today once it did.
You get the sense that Pat knows Marcus can be very, very good with just a bit more attention to detail.
I really liked the use of Blair as a zone breaker. He takes quick shots, maybe too quick, but they are usually open ones.
As with the Cuse game, we are doing some pretty creative stuff against the zone. It helps having two bigs that can pass, score inside, and go deep. And obviously you need to hit some deep ones against any zone. But I feel pretty good against it right now.
The guards were just good enough today on offense. Excellent (and this is always underrated) with post entry. Good enough from deep. And mostly under control. They're going to continue to have struggles, but if they can do this, we will win some more.
Loved the press! How about using it after made FGs sometimes too?!?

On Derrickson, it's clear Ewing sees the potential in him, and is pushing him hard. He laid into him a few times for questionable decisions, lack of effort or attention on defense, etc. He responds well to it, comes out and works harder. No one's immune though, saw Mulmore also get an ear full a few times too.

Not sure how much we can use the press yet. Everybody has to work together, and with our youth it will take time. Best for now to spring it and try to catch the opponent off guard. But we do have some length, so with more practice it can become a weapon.

He looks to be doing everything a half step faster than he's comfortable with, which does happen to some freshmen, and he's forced to do it in actual games because of our needs on the court. When he lets the game come to him, I think he will be really, really good. Stroke looks sweet, looks composed out there, just as you said, a little out of sync. He's going to really torch an opponent by the time this season is through, and maybe a good deal more than one opponent. Also love Blair's attitude. That guy is a gamer.
