I’m not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere on here before but Oscar and Mac are pretty tight. Or at least they were over the past year. From what I was told, Oscar spent much of last summer staying in Gate City at the Mcclung house working out with Mac. I even seen Mac, Zac and Oscar on the football field throwing the pigskin around one evening. There were even rumors of Oscar transferring to Gate City and staying with the Mcclung’s as an exchange student which obviously never worked out. Would love to see Oscar end up at Georgetown Appreciate the info.

I sincerely hope this is true (no reason to doubt you) and that the relationship bears fruit...because as I've said before, I love Oscar...and I think he's Patrick's kind of player, a warrior...

I'm never willing to bet my house on where any one kid decides he wants to start his career and I'm not sure if that bond is strong enough to help lean Oscar's decision. I just thought everyone would like to know a little of that history. That being a year removed I will say I have no idea how closely they keep in touch now other than Mac's mom's occasional retweet about Oscar. This is one of Mac's Videos from last summer and Oscar had a small acting part at the start and end of the video (best was at the end)

From what I've been told by someone associated with Team Loaded is that what GCnewhoya stated is absolutely true regarding Mac McClung and Oscar Tshiebwe's friendship. I hinted at that fact in previous post when I stated McClung would be Oscar's host if he came on a OV. They were also roommates last spring and summer during their travels with Loaded and because of some technicality he couldn't attend Gate City.

I would go "ALL IN" on Oscar Tshiebwe but last time I did that on a prospect it didn't workout for the Hoyas.
Isaiah Stewart & Oscar Tshiebwe are easily my 2 favorite players in this class...

H4E how would Oscar and Isaiah work together on the court? Could they play together or would they be duplicates? Would one run off the other? I hate asking these questions because I know Pat could make it work just like K or Cal. But we dont have the recent history like those schools.....

I hate asking these questions because I know Pat could make it work just like K or Cal. But we dont have the recent history like those schools..... I could see them work together seamlessly with Yurt7 as well. Between the 3 of them (Yurt7, Isaiah, & Oscar), Oscar's offensively still developing compared to the other 2 but has elite defensive potential. Oscar is developing a midrange offensive game. Isaiah's offensive game is much more polished then Oscar's game is currently constructed, as Isaiah is comfortable stepping out and playing on the perimeter in PnR/PnP as well as attacking the hoop to the hoop off the bounce while being a very high level post player. Coach Ewing had shown us that he play with 2 Bigs on the floor together as both Govan and Derrickson thrived last season as almost interchangeable pieces. While Oscar doesn't yet have the perimeter game that Yurt7 & to a slightly lesser extent Isaiah does, Oscar's effort, energy, and athleticism will make up the difference especially playing alongside guards who are able to get into the paint attracting the defense and opening up scoring options near and above the rim. Add in shooters like Blair, Pickett (if he's not in the Association) and let's say Quinones and Shackleford and the 2019-2020 team would be a F4 contending squad. While I believe they can fit very well offensively, I salivate at what a front court combination of Oscar, Isaiah, and Yurt7 could be as a defensive front court. Add in LeBlanc and Walker as wing defenders and Ooooooooh. Length, quickness, high level athleticism, rim protection, and elite mobility that will remind me of some of JT2's best squads. Remember this would probably only be a 1 year thing as Isaiah is projected to be a O&D, and I doubt Yurt7 plays more then 1 year in a Hoyas Jersey before moving on to the NBA. As of now Oscar's not projected as a O&D but if that team was united on the Hilltop under Coach Ewing's tutelage and his physical gifts along with winning, everything would change everything...

This article got a lot of things wrong. PayPal Cal himself has been watching Oscar since last fall as he attended a couple of Oscar's high school games as well as watching him all spring, summer and yet no offer.... Cal's silence on an offer after a year speaks volumes. Oscar is clearly Car Salesman Cal's 4th option at best at the Center position behind Bigs like Wiseman, Carey and others.

We have an angle, they have an angle, everybody has an angle... West Virginia has always been the team to beat but some people don't want to live in Morgantown W.V. Some people prefer a higher academic institution. Maybe the Catholic school angle will be appealing, or Oscar could shock everyone and end up at Baylor. Who knows what Oscar is looking for except Oscar. Your right everybody has angles....

Some people prefer a higher academic intuition. Maybe the Catholic school angle will be appealing, or Oscar could dock everyone and pop up with a fully loaded S Class Benz at Baylor with the new AMG kit. Who knows what Oscar is looking for except Oscar. You're right everyone has angles.... I agree, but I have a few edits that's I provided to your original statement...

I hope the relationship with Mac helps in the recruiting. A kid like Oscar adds a lot to a program, not only with his rebounding/defense/shot blocking, but his toughness. Having that Junk Yard Dog mentality on a team helps all the players. If they can get him, they need to make sure they focus on high skilled guys that can create offense with the rest of the class. I love having those hard nosed kids on a team but in today's college game you need to surround them with kids who can score. From everything I have heard, Oscar's offensive game is not as advanced as the rest of his game at this point.

I would give up some offense to have an enforcer at PF that can rebound and defend at a high level. Think Graham, Aw and JYD.

The kid did average close to 12-14ppg this summer over 20 games. I don't think he lost a head to head matchup against any prominent big and made a lot of them look silly. I think his offense is somewhat limited but it's like Angel Delgado in a way. You can't keep him off the glass, and he knows what he's good at and sticks to it although they do it in different ways. Hoyas4Ever was way ahead of the curve on this kid and probably has seen more than anyone but I think his offense is better than advertised at this point. Not bad, efficient, just limited imo.

I’ve seen a lot more of Oscar’s film from last summer than 2018 and I think his post game is raw but with the flashes of quickness I’ve seen in his footwork I see him as blank canvass for someone like Patrick Ewing to work with. As far as overall offensively , I look at Oscar and see him being more of an an asset on O by being able to create a lot more opportunities on that end of the floor with his elite quickness to elevate and uncanny ability to attack the ball off the rim in any direction. He is excellent in transition as a trailer. Also has good hands and what I think sets him apart is his ability to get out and run the court with anyone you put on the floor. His motor is insane which is obviously what stand out immediately to most people when watching Oscar play

He's starting to add more elements, and he needs more development, but its not a situation where you don't have to guard him. He's not a go to guy, but he can hurt you on O if you don't pay attention to him.

Hoyas4Ever was way ahead of the curve on this kid and probably has seen more than anyone but I think his offense is better than advertised at this point. Not bad, efficient, just limited imo. The Angel Delgado comparison is a very good in terms of his relentlessness on the glass and physical strength and makeup. But in comparing the 2, Oscar's a way better athlete, much better mobility which allows him to be a tremendous shot blocker and perimeter defender. Angel Delgado was unmovable on the defensive block once he put his body on his man. Oscar has some of that in him but also the ability to defend on perimeter switches, lock up his man in the post and force him to pass and then immediately come over and protect the weak side of the rim. His offense now is way better than advertised but his motor, athleticism and great hands get all the attention. When I saw him last summer, I immediately thought he was a better prospect than Bacot and McCormac primarily because of his elite athleticism and his no off button motor. His offense was primarily as a rim runner and finishing drop off passes for thunderous dunks. He has developed significantly since last summer. Not a go to guy in the post yet like say Stewart or Bacot, Tshiebwe is getting more comfortable and coming along. He's also made him a viable threat from the high post. Team's can't just sink in the paint as they did with Hopkins and Lubick. I think because of his motor, energy and enthusiasm, Coach Ewing tutelage could take Oscar's developing offensive game to the next level. I could see him being a double double guy with 13+ PPG while leading the conference in rebounding by the time he leaves campus for the Association. I say that believing he will be on campus multiple years. YaBoy is right. Oscar absolutely outplayed every other BIG he played against this summer including dominating Wiseman (the most overrated player in the class) in July. I thought the move to Pittsburgh and then not going back to Team Loaded sunk the staffs chances of getting him. I'm glad they stayed involved throughout all the changes. I'm obviously hoping they are making him and Stewart priorities. The fact that he hasn't committed to WVU is a good sign. We will see what he does in terms of visits....
