I think casualhoya is taking cheap shots at Georgetown on his website.enough is enough,we all know the schedule is bad and weak.but to keep saying the powerhouse Hoyas undefeated Hoyas getting votes for top 25.and another cupcake win,and on and on is getting ridiculous.i will say this, last year team would already have 1-2 games they loss.the Hoyas was terrible under jt3 the last 2 years, because he can’t adjust to his players, and kept running the garbage system he loved so much.if you don’t like the schedule go root for some other team.i can’t believe the criticism.ewing done the schedule like that because he was taking a loosing team over.that jt3 couldn’t coach.give Ewing that Hoyas team last year with, peak,Pryor govan, derrickson it would been NCAA tournament team for sure.i don’t care what anyone says it would have been......go Hoyas I enjoy watching them again.casual go root for duke. I am sick of it,no more reading your website.you are a casual fan I guess that’s where you got casual hoya from. Go Hoyas.

I stopped reading casual after the hit piece they did on Bracey during the recruiting process. I didn't like how they criticized his abilities and size based on how many stars somebody put next to his name without them ever seeing him play in person. Bracey obviously had some feelings about it as he retweeted the article. Regardless that's not journalism.
Also the calling for firing JT3 after the 3rd game of the season was not their place. Much like the hit piece done on the front page of this site regarding the hiring process was in very poor form. Either your going to provide news or complete OP-ED pieces, let the reader know before reading so we can decide. But don't try and manipulate your audience with opinionated Ill informed news. There's a reason i don't watch fox so called news.

You have to be "edgy" to get views in today's media world. CasualHoya has always been good at getting the views in.

I am just happy we are one of only EIGHT (!) undefeated D1 teams at this point in the season. Beat A&T and dammit BEAT 'Cuse.

I swear, sometimes I think we need a sense of humor even more than a PG. I mean I enjoy humor and Casual often has some but fan sites should try to turn a blind eye (or have Hoya colored glasses) about some things. A weak schedule should be one. A recruit's weaknesses (until they are signed and on campus) should be another. Casual's latest recap has over 10 references in 11 paragraphs (5 focused entirely on the level of competition) of how bad the schedule is and the competition has been. Make a mention of Howard's rating and that they are another cupcake then focus on the actual game. Maybe they just need filler to make it seem like a substantial article but personally, I don't need how bad our schedule is slammed down my throat. I'm an educated man and an analytical reader, it's quite clear the angle...I'd rather focus on the specific game they are recapping. That said, I do still appreciate Casual's contributions to the fan community. The schedule shots are just wearing and from your own team's fan site is a low blow.

I swear, sometimes I think we need a sense of humor even more than a PG. Yep Not a fan of everything they do there but I actually enjoy the tongue-in-cheek tweets and posts about the undefeated Hoyas.

The site is sarcastically embracing the situation, similar to how my friends and I talk about the schedule and how the Hoyas got votes in the AP poll. The schedule is what it is, so we might as well have fun with it.
One thing for everyone to understand is that Casual Hoya the person does not write every piece on the Casual Hoya website. He did not write the Bracey piece. He did not write the game recap last night. So keep that in mind as you formulate an opinion of the content over there.

I enjoy Sleeping with the Enemy and Casual Awards. Cas has given those segments to other people, probably for the better. These tend to be light-hearted.
In many ways it’s a model blog. He is reliable in developing content and engages his best posters and gets them to deliver content. You know what you’re going to get when you click. You should know it’s not journalism, but I digress.
I hate, absolutely hate, when the snark becomes ridicule. You can criticize players without making it personal. In the early days of the blog, this included comparing Austin to the Pillsbury Dough boy. This stopped after the Connecticut game but there are lots of examples, including barbs aimec at the now legendary Chris Wright (heart of a champion).. Doubly worse to do that to a high school kid, like Bracey. Like others I really was incensed by that.
I resent that he has become the representative of the fan base. It’s not that he isn’t entitled to strong opinions, but we’ve often seen Post articles “Hoya fans feel. . . “ and it’s coming out of Casual.

I look at Casual in two ways. On the one hand, I find much of their content enjoyable to read. On the other hand I worry that persons who don't love our university and team can take some of the fodder there and use it to make the Hoyas look bad. This is most worrisome when it may affect the decision of a prospect. I think we all know the Hoyas scheduling is atrociously bad this year. Our current strength of schedule is currently significantly lower than the lowest strength of schedule for any team playing in the last 8 years. While this will invariably climb during the conference schedule, I worry that even the best teams in the Big East will drop out of the top 25 in RPI after playing our team. This is contrary to the last 10 years when every team playing GU got a boost when they played the Hoyas even in years when our RPI was not very high.

He's not making fun of the schedule by saying The Georgetown Hoyas are an undefeated powerhouse receiving national votes, he's trolling other teams. Better them than our coach (see 2016-2017, lack of Tremont Waters).

Like any other site, some good some bad. This site has been a complete dumpster fire at times when things have been bad. Usually, a handful of posters hijack every thread and just start flaming everywhere. However, the way this site is presented is straightforward. There's nothing here that makes it remotely unclear that it's a message board and even casual (apologies for the pun) visitors to the site can immediately see that. The format of Casual probably makes it a bit more difficult to decipher what it's about for people that either aren't already familiar with what they do or willing to spend a little time reading through some of the content. iheartdurenbros touched on it but I'm not sure that I agree that people that aren't already fans and familiar with that site would necessarily get that it's not more authoritative/journalistic than it is. I could see a kid that's being recruited taking some of the stuff the wrong way and, in some cases, probably rightly so. On the flip side, part of the humor/snark of the site would be lost if it were presented more explicitly.

When you have the 351st ranked schedule out of 351, there is no such thing as a cheap shot. Just truth.

If we end up 38-0 with a SOS of 351 I will take that trade-off.

Can we stop with this stupid narrative that this team would have 2-3 losses with JT3. I was at the lead of the fire JT3 train but at most he would've lost the Richmond game and that's not likely. The rest of the wins are just against atrocious teams way worse than any team JT3 lost too.

If we end up 38-0 with a SOS of 351 I will take that trade-off. Our strength of schedule will be something around 105. Now that the OOC games are almost over there’s not much room for movement. The Big East is good enough that we won’t finish with a strength of schedule in the 300s. Part of the reason these stats have us at 351 for now is because we haven’t played the Big East games (and Syracuse yet).
