He looks like an excellent big man, especially as a shot blocker. Has he committed elsewhere?

247sports.com/Player/Kenneth-Nwuba-80881Shows he is at Huntington Prep. We are on the list but it looks like Broadus is his lead recruiter at UMD so that is probably where the G-town interest came from. Does not look like he's committed but he's got a solid list. Shows he does not have a Hoyas' offer. This is weird though ESPN shows this guy at Oakhill: www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/211022/kenny-nwubaAre they the same guy? I'm confused now. One is from Jacksonville, FL one is from Jackson, Miss. One shows Huntington Prep, one shows Oak Hill. The lists are quite similar, position is the same, size is very similar.

Nwuba, a 6-foot-10 big man that transfered to Huntington (W.V.) Prep for his senior year, is also strong considering Baylor, Georgetown and Maryland. Although Nwuba has yet to schedule any other official visits, Carter said he's planning to visit the other three schools involved.

If it's true, it's good to hear.I think we need another center for neXT season and he looks great on film as a defensive specialist.

Didn't commit to UCLA after visit but doesn't seem intent on visiting Georgetown (planning visits to MD and Baylor). “We are going to visit Maryland and Baylor,” Carter said. “We are going to do the ACT coming up and then we will set them up.”

Now we know why he couldn't commit or UCLA wouldn't except a commitment. He has yet to achieve an NCAA eligible score on the ACT. Probably explains why he was so late to schedule first OV to UCLA and no official visit is being discussed with Georgetown as it has real academic standards. That sounds like a shot at UCLA but it's not. Prospects are allowed to take official visits as long as they have taken the psat. It's up to the program discretion if they will schedule OV for a student who had yet to take or get qualifying score on ACT/SAT. Some programs will, some won't and will wait for qualifying score. Some programs will schedule an OV if they feel the student athletes transcripts are very strong and that the standardized test score will only be formality in terms of when they take it not if they will get a qualifying score. As of now Nwuba's recruiting looks like a 2 school race between UCLA & Baylor. Maryland looks to be the front runner for Moses Brown and that will take them out of the picture if they get his commitment. Also looks like Nwuba will be signing in the late period. His recruiting might open up a lot more once Knuwba gets a qualifying score as he will be one of the better BIG's still available in the late period.

Seems a bit odd to me that 5 days ago his coach, in mentioning the UCLA visit, said that there were three others under "strong consideration," and that he planned to visit all three (Baylor, Georgetown and Maryland)...now he plans to visit UMCP but NOT Georgetown, even though he would have to be in the immediate area already to do so...admittedly, I know nothing, but another possibility might be that we've received a commitment from somebody else...
