Now that the OOC schedule is over shall we revisit this thread?
I like the way Ewing has gotten the player's confidence back and the changes he's made both to offense and defense. The team seems to have a decent sense of their strengths and weaknesses and our starters looks like they can compete with most teams. We lack depth, backcourt shooting and some ball handling and its likely those will be a problem all season. Still, the players have heart, they seem motivated and well coached, and so and I think we'll be close in most games even against the better teams, and will win a decent number.
I'm upping my prediction to 7 or possibly 8 wins.
5 home wins and 2 or 3 on the road.

Eeyore here says 6. But as others have opined, it won’t be as painful as recent season results have been.

I dont see us beating Nova and Xavier. So are we .500 in the remaining games? Providence looks worse than originally expected, but the Johnnies may be better.
I said six earlier, and am tempted to bump that by one, but I still have questions about our defense. I'll stick with six.

I'll go with 8-10, mainly hoping the team can get a signature win against one of the top 3..
1-5 against Nova, Xavier & Seton Hall..
7-5 against DePaul,Butler,PC, Creighton,SJU & Marquette..

With our history the last few years, and all the criticism of the OOC schedule, we may catch some teams sleeping. No expectations, no pressure. 7, maybe 8.

I said before Syracuse we would be 7-11. But after Syracuse I will up that to 8-10. Gotta win games that we are ahead with 2-3 minutes left. Syracuse will be the type of game we will be playing against all our BE opponents with the exception of Nova and Xavier. Jagan and Mulmore must close these games out. No TO's in the final 3 minutes.

I’m guessing five. The team has some potential but we still haven’t beaten a legitimate opponent. We will get hot from three and steal an upset or two, but the top of the league will feast on our defense and won’t give up the easy transition buckets we’ve been getting ca the cupcakes.

Cmon. Cuse is a solid , middle of the pack type team that could easily get into the NCAA tourney. They beat The Twerps and UConn. The game showed we can outplay a team like that for 38 minutes, which is more than we knew before the game. but 8 BE wins..not buying that.

9-9:
0-4 against Nova, Xavier (Nova & Xavier are tough and skilled) 1-1 against Seton Hall (we catch them on a good and a bad night; first W vs a ranked team for Pat) 1-1 against Butler (W on Wednesday) 1-1 against Creighton (haven't watched them, but upset W at Capital One) 1-1 against SJU (let the Mullin-Ewing era begin) 5-1 against DePaul, PC & Marquette
Merry Christmas/Feliz Navidad to all!!!!

I like this but get the "house of cards" feeling. A bad loss tomorrow night and this whole edifice collapses.
