LeBlanc has one more official visit scheduled at this point, but will also visit LSU. “On Sept. 8, I am going to Texas A&M,” LeBlanc said. “I am not sure yet when I am going to visit LSU yet. I still have to sit down and talk about that.” Three of LeBlanc’s final four schools are in the SEC. “I actually didn’t know that A&M was in the SEC,” LeBlanc said. “I knew LSU and Arkansas were.” LeBlanc knows there are some who expect he will stay home and play for LSU, who has a new coach, Will Wade. “There is no pressure,” LeBlanc said. “I like what they are doing over there and I like how serious Coach Wade is taking basketball. But I am going to go the best place for me.” www.wholehogsports.com/news/2017/aug/27/leblancs-visit-arkansas-far-exceeds-expectations/LeBlanc previously announced an announcement date of Nov. 12, which is his birthday, but that is up in the air now, as is whether he will ink a letter-of-intent in the early signing period. “I am not sure if it is going to be on the 12th anymore,” LeBlanc said. “The process is still the same. It is just going to be the best overall fit for me. It might be in the late period.” A commitment here would be a major win for the program going forward, he's got BE beast in his game!

It seems like one of Bates, Leblanc or Fleming would be an ideal pairing after the Carter signing. Does the Carter signing knock us out of the box on any other players (Kopp)?

I'd be psyched if we could get 2 of them, if LeBlanc is one of them, as he looks versatile enough to play either forward spot.

Coach Patrick Ewing is putting on the fabled full court press. Here's to his success.

"It’s been great to have Patrick Ewing recruiting him," said Jones of Georgetown. "Patrick Ewing and who he is speaks for itself in the game of basketball. To have a Patrick Ewing recruiting him is big, and he has been excited about it. Not many guys get recruited by an NBA Hall of Famer." According to Jones the plan going forward is to take his visit to LSU, and then to sit back and think about his options before coming to a final decision. scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Four-star-forward-Josh-LeBlanc-is-enjoying-his-visit-process-107396789Visiting LSU next weekend...

Think you could see this kid play everywhere from the 3 to the 5 in a small ball lineup.
Josh at the 5 might shock some but kid defended centers a lot during AAU season and more than held his own. He also had 45 blocks in 17 games on the circuit. Versatility is the key here, but the ability to defend 1-5, and the mismatches he would cause on offense is something I think the staff is very interested in..
Either way his versatility and ridiculous motor will find it's way into the lineup no matter who else is here. Ultimate glue guy...

...and we all mock the ratings when we pick up a 200+ guy and say what do they know but in the reverse we land Leblanc that will be 2 Top 100 recruits for Ewing in about 6 months. Not too shabby...

LSU insiders say his favorite visit was to A&M fwiw... They thought it was an A&M vs LSU battle before they were eliminated. They also mentioned something about his mom not being totally on board with LSU. This was a couple days before he cut LSU.

I think he’s coming here.

I think he’s coming here. Ok, but tbf neither kid is really a fringe top 100 guy. X has a composite around 250. Leblanc's is 73. Said it before but it's pretty obvious the staff wasn't sold on XJ. They passed on a similar guard in Aaron Thompson who has some of the same limitations although I think Xavier will be better than AT. I agree it would be disappointing, but only because we didn't land a talented kid, not because A&M's program is bad. If there's one thing Billy Kennedy can do it's recruit. He signed a top 5 class just 3 years ago and followed that up with a top 20 class.

His comments above are really disappointing to me...G'town was "alright"?..." liked the whole coaching staff...the situation overall and the environment"... (at A&M)...doesn't sound good at all, and I thought we would very likely be the choice over A&M...play for Billy Kennedy over Patrick Ewing, and go to Texas A&M over Georgetown?...I just don't get that at all, and it would be extremely disappointing to me...we'll see...
