I don't know in what world Peak wasn't a SF, but whatever. Did you watch GTown? LJ played 1-3 for us. He is by definition a true combo guard (pg,sg,sf)... By default due to poor roster construction. LJ was a wing. Had to play 1, because, well, there was nobody else last year. DSR was a combo guard.

LJ Peak may have dribbled the ball up the court at times, but he was never a 1.

I hope Mac reaches out to Pinson. If those two can build a relationship, it would be the beginnings of a quality backcourt.

YouTube highlights show made shots. That tells you nothing. You can't tell what kind of shooter McClung is from highlights. People looked at Pickett's highlights and had absurd expectations. Someone could shoot 8-25 in a game and you wouldn't know it. That's a fair point, but when you go for 30-40 in a high school contest, there ain't many missed shots. You can glean a ton from Mac's in-game highlights, and then you can verify volume and percentages with a quick check of the box score. Not too hard to triangulate. Yes, I used the word triangulate. And I kind of smirked when I typed it.

Um, actually it kind of is, I haven't been able to find any box scores online that show McClung's FG/FGA stats. You would think this'd be an easy thing in this day and age, but it's not.

95hoya, I understand that you do not think Mac will make as big a splash as many of us are hoping for as a freshman. My question is..are you glad we signed him or not? Not at all. Staff has to trust their evaluations. My concern is putting all their eggs in one basket. That's what it feels like to me.

In an homage to program fan Jeff Van Gundy, I think we change Ranch's moniker for today to "Big Chief Triangulate." That said, he makes a good point.

Spring signing period is still ahead of us and lets not forget the transfer route.

Um, actually it kind of is, I haven't been able to find any box scores online that show McClung's FG/FGA stats. You would think this'd be an easy thing in this day and age, but it's not. There’s at least a couple of box scores earlier in this thread. One where he went 11-23 from the field (0-5 from 3pt), and one where he scored 44 pts (of 70 for his team) and his team shot 52% from field. I agree that it’s hard to find lots of box scores to figure out his efficiency in scoring all of these points. But based on what we do know, it seems like a good bet he’s shooting in the 45-55% range, and I’m guessing maybe high 30’s from three. He’s scoring lots of points, taking lots of shots, getting to the ft line a bunch, and, probably getting doubled-teamed and focused on by the defense of Perry weak competition. Who knows what it all adds up to, but I can’t wait to find out.

They offered Pinson and they have reached out to Quinerly and Wash. If they end up with only Mac I don't believe it will be from lack of effort or thanking Mac is the end all be all...........

Mac McClung sees Xavier Pinson’s tweet about liking Allen Iverson and raises him a “I changed my jersey number to 3 from 0”
Drops 47 on some fools including a seemingly joyless two handed reverse. I’m sure one of you yungs will post the video.
That #3 though ... he’s not coming to sit!
