Perfect balancing player to come off the bench. I still want to start Pickett, as he has a higher ceiling. But if he isn't playing well, you can bring Greg in and know he won't hurt you in any situation.

We need more selfless players like Malinowski. He is fundamentally sound and tries to do what's needed to get the W. His defense is not the best, but he tries and doesn't seem to commit silly fouls.

Malinowski has far exceeded most folks' expectations. We are lucky to have him. At the same time, PIckett has the higher upside and has yet to perform up to expectations on the offensive end. His D yesterday, especially early in the first half to set the tone, was great. Somehow, Pat has to get more out of Pickett. But it sure is comforting to know Greg is on the bench, ready to jump in and provide his steadying hand for this young team.

I have not watched the Jagan charge again just too painful but I am pretty sure Greg had gotten himself wide open on the left side for 3 and that's where the pass should have gone. Kid was on fire 2nd half....

If Malinowski starts playing Iike he did against Syracuse every game, he will steal of all of Pickettβs minutes.

Everyone seems to be talking about Pickett's upside. I don't see it. Think maybe we have seen all he is capable of.

Ooooh...i have to disagree here. I think he has a lot of upside and most of it has to do with his decision making and turning the ball over less.

Agree with this.... and the evidence is what we saw from our All BE Rookie last season. The second half of our season saw a big jump in his effectiveness. Perhaps some have forgotten that.

Gotta find a way to get him some more minutes, even if it hurts Jamorko's feelings.

Great game by Greg, and yes he has been a pleasant surprise. To come into a big game like that and perform like he did in crunch time was huge. The kid is definitely not afraid of the moment. I don't see why he and Pickett couldn't log more minutes together.

Everyone seems to be talking about Pickett's upside. I don't see it. Think maybe we have seen all he is capable of. Pickett looks the part in that they called him KD because of his height and slim physique. But that is where the comparisons stop really. He showed some improvement toward the end of last year. However, Pickett hasn't been lighting up the box score this year. Keep in mind, we have a freshmen backcourt. The flow of the offense will be up and down due to their inexperience. They'll also take more shots too. They can generate points that the previous backcourt could not last year. He isn't a deft ballhandler. He needs to be fed his shots for the most part. If you have 2 options in the backcourt with Mackinjo and Jessie in the middle, somebody will get squeezed out. Those could be factors as to why he hasn't made the jump as expected. Wouldn't file him away. Only a sophomore. Still like him as a starter with Malinowski coming off the bench.

I'd keep Malinowski coming off the bench to bring in some 3-point shooting fire power and a steadying force if the Mackinjo train is running off the rails. He's actually a perfect bench player for this team.
Really like what Greg is doing this year. Very heady, solid player who does a lot of little things and has a nice, repeatable stroke. He's a better rebounder and defensive disruptor than I would have guessed based on Kenner reports.
One word of caution I'd give him is that he got extremely close to fouling Cuse 3-point shooters at least twice during the game. When closing late on the shooter, instead of jumping up to block the shot to distract the shooter's eye, he sort of stepped into the shooting area with a hand up in an effort to disrupt the flow and landing of the shooter. An experienced shooter would figure out a way to gently move a leg forward to create contact, fall down, and draw a foul.
Heck, he didn't get called, so I can't complain. But there were a few "ooooh, watch it Greg!" moments. The closing late part was probably the bigger problem.
Love GREG!!!! What a pleasant surprise. William & Mary must have been playing some good ball last year.

William & Mary must have been playing some good ball last year. You seldom find that type of shooter in college, that is why Greg's closeout distracts the shooter. I have to believe the team is working on closing out on the three point shooter in practice and on not allow that same perimeter shooter to pump fake, drive by that defender and have a clear path to the basket. Rim defender outside of LeBlanc is crucial. I hope Greg's talent, and the entire team's, is not wasted this year
