247sports.com/Season/2016-Basketball/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchoolIn looking at this, it seems like you almost want to recruit sub-top 20 comp recruits. A majority of these guys are entering into this years draft. This is hardly an outlier in terms of typical years and player expectations. If you get a top 20 kid and he stays for two or God forbid three years, it is deemed a failure. Look at Isiah Briscoe signing with an agent despite being a lock to go in the late second or undrafted. None of these top 20 guys got their team to the FF. If you do find a top 20 kid, it seems like you really need to do your due diligence to make sure he it looking at staying more then one year and also maybe is lacking in some NBA-level measurable that will make him a two or three year guy. Obviously it is a good problem to have but I hope PE is going in eyes wide open that the path to success is finding core players and supplementing with a five star from time to time.
