Awaka looks like a prototypical Cooley low-post guy.

Cliff and Stewart would be a dream for our last two. I think we'd be getting one or the other. Cliff is priority 1 right now, and I'd be happy to have him. But if Cliff is your 5... A) You've spent a lot of $$. Stewart will cost big $$ also. Too much? There would still be a few smaller holes to fill. B) Neither are particularly good offensive players, and certainly no outside threats. On a 1-3 that doesn't feature rock-solid outside shooting... that's likely a no-go. C) Stewart is a rising SO. If you're going to lose one guy by bringing in Cliff, you'll likely lose both returning bigs by bringing in a starter-level guy w/ three years remaining. My guess is we find one really top level 4 or 5 to go w/ our existing bigs. If it's a C like Cliff, you cobble something together at the 4 from a combo of Fielder/McKenna (outside threats) or a 2nd-level addition - like a Traore. If Cliff doesn't happen, there's always guys like this: Awaka would be a nice add.

I agree nice add, but is he really a “we’ve got $4-5M in NIL” add? Feels like we should be looking at top 20 guys.

Looks like Cliff needs to feel out the market and maybe crash back down to earth after asking for a very high price before committing

He'd be an outstanding addition, but if his asking is too high now I'm not sure we can afford to wait for him to circle back after he does the rounds. Hopefully Cooley has identified alternatives, whether Awaka or whoever may be out there.

Selling himself to the highest bidder, yee hah. Can't blame him, that's the system we're stuck with these days.
On the Williams signing, I was still holding out hope that we could find a strong shooting guard and make Epps the sixth man. That doesn't seem to be in the cards, so put that in the category of you can't have everything. If he's strong defensively then there should be a spot for him, as that's an everpresent need.

Kansas spent the most last year at a little over $4 million according to 247Sports and that is with Hunter so I can't look at the 10 guys we have and think we spent close to that even if we had to spend more to get them to come. Now if we get Cliff than I can believe we spent close to that.

If you can close Awaka, rather than wait on Cliff you do it. Awaka is a low post bully an dmeance and will score alot more than Cliff will. Awaka main problem is staying on the floor. He fouls alot but if you go watch their game against Purdue, he by far was the best against Edey so don't look at his 6-8 size and worry about him at Center. He is far more athletic than Supreme. He is versatile enough to play the 4 also. I think he pairs perfectly with Drew and Thomas. I hope we close this.

It’s so sad that this is what cbb has become. Shopping to the highest bidder. I love this sport have for 30 yrs. I guess it just caught up with the rest of the world. No more 4 year player, no more playing for “your” school and no more good old days. Like everything else the creed and $$$ has destroyed something amazing. Something so many people grew up loving. I as guilty as anyone. Throw the bag at this kid. Get him here. Looking in the mirror it’s just sad. I remember as a kid when zo commit. Knowing I had four years of excitement and being a big east power. Now who knows what a “commitment” means

Call me crazy but I still think Cliff is a bad fit with Thomas, I like awake as a better fit. Take a good look at the Duke transfer Sean something who I would like.

I understand his position and chasing the money while he can, but for Georgetown they really need to move onto the next best shot blocker/rim protector that is available. I think having a guy at the back of your defense that can clean up other mistakes in the paint, makes everyone on the floor a better defender. I think Sorber might develop into a good shot blocker, but expecting him to be that presence in his first year is asking for a lot.

I get it. I don't think Cliff plays in the NBA except as a backup. So this is one chance for a huge chance for a payday. From what I understand, our offer is the highest. Bama fans say they definitely don't have have 1 mill for anyone.

Bama fans say they definitely don't have have 1 mill for anyone. Yep, he had his head down for the last 4 seasons and graduated from Rutgers to fulfill his promise to mom back in Nigeria, now he is looking to get that one big payday. Cannot blame him, and actually wish most kids would do it like this. But $1 million for a single season of CBB, how does that return on investment look? Cliff does not even score outside the paint? Even if he is the finishing piece on a championship level team, that would imply you are spending a lot on the rest of the roster. All of this to win a one loss and out tournament.
