Broadus routinely brought guys like Josh Hart and Daquan Bracey to the table and would at times have to beg JT3 to offer. Those offers never came....in home visits were even less frequent.....it was an uphill battle for the assts. Like father, like son... In the end, JT3 did not have the hunger to outwork other BE coaches, even though they had better BE records than him and he was getting paid a lot more than them. Still, he wanted to stay.

Just weird, because JT3 did sign talented guys, but most of them were bad fits for his style. I think Hart was actually prototypical for the "don't worry about position, just play basketball" style he always espoused. I think he will be more succesful at a place where the top guys are out of reach, and he can focus on the right style for his system.

I asked this in another thread, but I'll ask it again here. If Broadus' biggest contribution to the program is/was his ability to recruit and the most damning criticism of the program over the last few years was its inability to land talent...why should we be giving Broadus the benefit of the doubt? The fact that all these stories about how Broadus brought all these great players in and it was just the failure of (or even refusal by) JT3 to close the deal are only just now leaking out calls into question their veracity. Just sounds like there is a former assistant coach out there who wants to hang his hat on all the recruiting successes of the previous regime while avoiding all responsibilities for its failures. Sounds like someone is trying to salvage their reputation so they can land that next job one leak at a time.

Very valid points Cambridge. I would probably move on.

Again ...we are going to regret that we let him go.

Again ...we are going to regret that we let him go. There's little need for regret in making a move that's standard for the business. Whether Broadus is good at what he does is pretty much beside the point. New head coach=new assistants.

I will defer to people with much more knowledge about the value of the past staff members and how much they will be missed at this point. What I would like to see is that last staff position, the local young hot shot recruiter who can connect with the local AAU programs, filled soon. It sounded like we had some names of candidates that had some fans excited but then nothing got finalized. I think the current staff has been very active and has been doing a really good job recruiting, but filling that final spot can only help the program, especially with building relationships with the local recruits.

Broadus has moved on. Georgetown has moved on. We need to move on and wish everyone success. I liked Broadus and met him 4-5 times. He was personable and likable. I hope he is very successful. I just want PE to get a complete staff, including some local recruiting savant, and restore the program to prominence.

I'm not a poster that clamour for inside info, so I'm not asking for that reason. It just seems weird that we're now hearing about this.
