Seems like CT is having some problems squaring the Nike contracts with coaches and their state employee ethics regulations. Fascinating. I'm sure they'll square it all away, but it would be earth shattering if they forced Calhoun to leave by cutting him off at the knees by barring his deals with Nike. www.courant.com/news/local/hc-coachesthreat0526.artmay26,0,718887.story?coll=hc-big-headlines-breaking

I think that this will all get worked out to satisfy Cal-goon and Geno - the statements from the agents sound a lot more like positioning and threatening on the part of their clients than something that would actually be the case - these two coaches mean too much to UCONN for them to be allowed to walk over the Nike deals.
Although just an interesting related question: what is Georgetown's rule on this sort of thing?

The most important part of this story:
"While I agree that there is always a constant need for regulation and the prevention of another John Rowland situation, putting a match out with a fire hose doesn't seem to be the solution," wrote Brian Mylod of New York, a Hartford native who attended Georgetown but whose "heart will forever be with the HUSKIES."
