Ranked as the No. 82 player according to the 247sports.com composite rankings, Williams has also really shined in the summer basketball camp circuit. Out of the same high school as current Irish guard, Prentiss Hubb, Notre Dame is right in the thick of things with Williams — who is expected to choose between Georgetown and Notre Dame in the next few weeks. Recent reports are that the hometown Hoyas hold the slight edge, but the ND staff is confident on where they stand — so it is really any man’s game as of now. Williams remains a top target for the Irish staff, if not the top target altogether, and it will either be a really big blow or a huge recruiting win once he makes his decision. slapthesign.com/2019/07/24/notre-dame-basketball-nuggets-july-2019/

Not the most ringing of endorsements that’s for sure.

He's been a Hoya priority since day one. Let's close the deal!

Yikes...one statement I am sure does not summarize everything he feels for Gtown...but taking just those 3 quotes felt like we were a distant 3rd...

Could be he's letting the others down easy by saying nice (nicer) things about them?

Kid just basically told us he’s going to Michigan.
Why didn’t Juwan Howard need 3 years from being an NBA assistant to start landing recruits like Williams?

I think those who run hoyas sites should be a bit more optimistic about us landing Williams...we have been recruiting him very hard and made it clear we want him...lets see how this plays out 1st.

Why isn’t this type of post banned?

It'd be great to get someone of his caliber in here early. He'd be our best 1st commit since Marcus & Ike in '15 and '14. Despite their ultimate record on the court (couldn't help not having a PG), those were two talented classes.
Williams + Davis + SG?/Lofton? would be a tremendous complement to the guys we should have coming back.
So much easier to be ahead of the game in recruiting. Fingers crossed.

Warning: Hedge incoming...
I like our chances with Williams. If I was a betting man, I think he commits to Hoyas tomorrow.
But the high level recruiting of Kenneth Lofton Jr. (Ewing and Kirby flew down south to see him this week) who is another 2020 SF at a position we should have some upperclassmen depth in '20 makes me wonder.

Why isn’t this type of post banned? Howard is a great guy and I don’t think Michigan has ever been linked to that stuff (at least more than anyone else). We have to learn to understand that sometimes people land recruits over us because they just happen to have more attractive circumstances, and not just because they’re evil.

I am saying this with only seeing highlights...but Lofton looks like a pure 4 to me. Even with some conditioning I can't imagine him ever playing at the 3 regardless of him being just 6-6. Of course that doesn't dismiss your premise Williams looks like a 3/4 so there is definitely overlap.

Man, y'all sure know how to jump to conclusions. None of those quotes said anything to me, other than he has three schools. The negativity is draining sometimes. Ewing's recruiting has been A plus, and there are still so many negative nancies….Whether we get Williams or not, it doesn't matter. Pat has recruited well enough from all angles that I'm confident he's going to pull in a good class.
