The title of the article is incredibly annoying: "5 teams that flopped"
Flopped!!??!! We may not have made the tournament, but last year was no flop. Not sure if the classlessness belongs to Vitale or the editors at ESPN.com. Either way it's lame.
Also there's no way that ND dances next year. Or ever again.

Vitale's column is still the most amateur looking column in all of sports. Its pathetic. A third grader could produce a better column. He provides no insight, and the background design looks ridiculous.

That article title is just to get people to click on the story link, it seems so much more important if phrased that way. Those other team may have flopped but we totally overachieved, and I think we probably have the best chance of the bunch to make the NCAAs.

I think we are forgetting that we lost our last 5 regular season games... it isnt so off base to say we "flopped" at the end of the season. Though I agree that the season as a whole needs to be looked at as an extreme positive.

We did overachieve for 2/3's of the season, but we flopped in the end.
We either played to our potential...then flopped. Or played way above it as pretenders and then were shown for our true abilities in the end. There's no "nice" way to look at the whole season and stay honest.
...not that i'm disappointed or anything. I loved last year's team, but overconfidence isn't something we need.
Cheers to the twerps never making it to the NCAA's again. The only things that would give me a bigger smile would be the Hoyas winning it all or the Hoyas actually kicking them/their eligibility for the tourney out.

I honestly don't think that we did flop - given all of the pre-season expectations and a new coach we definitely OVERachieved - it is nice to be on this list - eventhough the reporting is of low quality with no insight and shows a strong regional bias ...

Uh, our preseason expectations were mostly around a 6-10, 7-9 BE record with maybe one or two upsets and a couple awful losses and a few more wins over the truly dreadful teams.
Our MID-season ones were the NCAA's and then some.
