Best of luck to the coaches and players as they begin BE play. Behind you all the way.

This is a very winnable game. Even when we've had good team, winning @ Marquette has been difficult, but this is not a matchup that scares me on the whole.
The one facet that does worry me is our poor transition D so far this year. They're a team that likes to shoot the 3, and while I haven't actually seen them play yet, a team that's launching 20-30 per game playing at a fast pace, I'm going to assume that shooting open 3s in transition is something they look for - and defending that hasn't been one of our strengths. The guards need to sprint back and find an open man, not just sprint back and stand aimlessly in the paint.
The Govan-Fischer matchup I think will also be important. Govan has been on a nice little run of late, but it's been a while since he matched up with a legitimate big man. Both guys are having nice seasons. Both guys are prone to foul. If we can go at Fischer early and often and force him into foul trouble (obviously one of our strengths this year), I think we'll be ok. They have little depth overall and really no size to speak of behind Fischer. The fact that Jessie can hopefully draw him away from the hoop should help the cause because once he gets outside of 5 feet from the hoop, he's about as comfortable as a hooker in church. Should it go against us, at least we've got Hayes to provide some support. I'm hoping we see the early offense geared toward drives to the hoop and/or getting the ball inside to Jessie. I've been critical of Govan so far this year, so this is going to be a good litmus test for him. Will he man up and own the paint against a legitimate offensive rebounding threat? Hopefully he's built some confidence now and can win the battle in the paint.
Finally, this seems like the kind of game that Kaleb Johnson could have an impact. He's been very "meh" for most of this year, but this seems like a game that he could contribute. They've got a lot of guys in that 6'5"-6'6" range that can shoot the three and play fast. It should be a fast paced game. I could definitely see guys like Agau and Derrickson having trouble on the defensive end. Coming off a decent 8 minutes against UNCG, maybe this is a game where Kaleb puts together a solid 10-12 minutes of energy and effort, particularly on the defensive end.

I seen them twice, they will score there is no question about that. they have 5 really good offensive players. I think you have to limit Fischer to his average but JuJuan Johnson and Cheatham you have to limit one. Also you got to stay glued to Andrew Rowsey, he can shoot with unlimited range from ANYWHERE on the floor. He is the x factor that I see in their team because he can go off and have 7 or 8 3's easily. Johnson and Cheatham are really great drivers of the basketball. The rest of the team are basically spot up shooters but Hauser is really good shooter too.

No way Fisher can beat us. We have 3 bigs who should get him in early foul trouble. I agree that this is a real test of the "new and improved" Jesse. But I also think Hayes needs to show up. Finally, it would be nice if Mulmore and Mosley can hound their 3 point shooters. Unlike past years, over the past 4-5 games we have done a great job of preventing 3 point shooters from running us out of the gym. Gotta keep it up.

Bradley center has been the toughest arena to get a W at in the 3 era. It's going to come down to the little things as usual. Winning the battle at the FT line and on the boards would be big. Marquette can score we need to scrap and win those 50-50 balls, make those extra effort plays...

Highlights of Marquette's 78-65 win over St. Francis about a week ago. Andrew Rowsey led them with 22 points.

One thing that always surprises me is that Marquette is also a Nike Jumpman team. Let's show them who reps the brand better!

Well if no one else will say it, last year Isaac scored 32 against these guys. No Isaac this year BUT I think Pryor is more than capable of lighting these guys up. Let's hope so.

Mosley starts with 2 TOs and a foul. What took so long to get him out of there?
