the guards better be ready because Jawun Evans is a beast. they are going to use the high screen all night just like MD did. get ready for a foul-fest by the Hoyas.

I think more importantly is identifying which OSU player not in the gameplan will have a career game on national tv. JT-led teams create stars. Think Pritchard. Why can't it be an obscure GU player having a career game?

Please go UNDER the screen and dare their guards to shoot the three- even if they hit their first several threes. Keep them out of the lane at all costs.

It comes around every 75 games.

Fragile. Team needs a leader. The hype was so completely over the top that it is shocking. What was expected is not what is being shown on the court. Govan is not in condition. Pryor is a "volume" shooter, which is a nice way of saying he is a gunner who is trying to lead through his offense, rather than his all around game. Still consider him a valuable addition to this team but he is not doing enough to lead and he is too one-dimensional. After 5 games and averaging 33 minutes with the ball in his hands much of the time he has 3 assists for the season and 10 turnovers. Peak--no complaints when he can stay on the floor and stay within his game rather than forcing the offense. Mosley is going to be a nice player and so too Mulmore. Even Tre has improved in some areas. Yet how long can a team go with 3 backcourt players who cannot shoot anything other than layups. Copeland having a disastrous year so far. Kaleb tries but is still far from ready to play regular minutes and has a mental block at the FT line, something which will keep him out of tight games. Agau--guess I expected more given the hype but then he has not played in years and is coming off an injury. Derrickson just needs to get healthy and provide what he was doing at the end of last season. Hoping for Hayes to add a jolt on the boards and as a leader. For a team that cannot shoot and is erratic on defense any way, I cannot help but wonder whether there could have been a role for Cameron, who in his worst year was a better shooter than we are getting from Copeland, Mosley, Mulmore and Tre. What about Mourning coach? He is an effort kid who tries hard and makes mistakes. He struggles to rebound but there is no lack of desire or effort in his game. Down 18 in the last minute and still no role for this kid? Really?

LJ seems to do that at times, but not many others. I agree- I would like to see us literally go through the screen once in a while and put the screening player on his back. The key is making hard contact but not letting the ref A) realize that you saw the screen coming or B) see you lower your shoulder. Run hard and low and then drop one side of your body into the screening player right before contact. Make them think twice next time.

LOL Another foul for Peak, which leads to less playing time, then to more losses...

real talk: can georgetown tell us wtf is going on with derrickson? Like what is the timetable? This isn't Austin's diabetes. Is it normal to not hear anything about an injured player who has played a few minutes here and there, but now isn't traveling with the team? At this point we suck, so it isn't like he's being cagey about Derrickson's availability to psyche out opponents a la Harbaugh with Speight v. O'Korn. I just want to know if Marcus is going to be back to 100% in a day, a week, a month, or 2018. Why is it so hard to communicate with your fan base? Am I being unreasonable here?

Take Oregon and the Brooks injury, for example. Everyone knew exactly what was going on, when he could return and that he wasn't going to play the whole game.

Maybe Georgetown feels more strongly about protecting privacy rights of its student athletes vis-a-vis fans who don't actually "need" to know. I think maybe the staff wants Marcus to be healthy and able to contribute even more than we do. And just maybe it is hard to tell exactly when that will be.

As for tonight - I want to see JYD effort on the boards. That may be more important than actually winning the game, because it is a mindset we will need from here on out.
That said, a 2-1 Maui result with wins over Oregon and OK State would not be so bad.

Not unreasonable from the fan perspective, but remember the exact medical condition of the player is a matter still protected under the law. If the player wants the information out he can provide it. Although the Hoya program is notorious for its lack of communication about the status of the players we must consider that sometimes the public disclosure of a situation may not be something the player wants.
