In time to honor this week's release of the last Star Wars movie, here's my all-time GU first team based on past players' names you could hear in a Star Wars movie:
Kayode Vann (G ’91) Boubacar Aw (G ’98) Cheikh “Ya Ya” Dia (F/C ’97) Godwin Owinje (F ’97) R. Boumtje-Boumtje (C ’01) ;D

No Jonathon Smith???
He was one of JT's first recruits and JT had a lot of confidence in him. He was an exceptional leaper. One game went down to the final seconds with Georgetown up by one point and a jump ball was called with just a few seconds left. Jonathon was jumping against someone much taller and JT was already congratulating his assistants.

Kayode Vann has to be the hands-down winner of Hoyas with names that would do justice to a Star Wars episode. Sounds kind of like a Yoda gone musical a la Karaoke. As everybody gets revved up for that 12:01 AM showing ( ;D ;D ;D ) in just a few hours .... interesting tidbit on one of the "Rookie Wookies" you'll be seeing. Keep an eye out for the one who has a dreadlocks hairstyle to his general fuzzball appearance, goes by the name of Merumeru, and will lead the charge of a Wookie army. He's actually an Australian pro player who did a four year NCAA stint. (The Aussie pro league got hit with a casting call asking for tall players when Lucas was filming parts of the movie Down Under.) www.moviemarket.co.uk/Photos/P204070_C64245.htmlwww.nerf-herders-anonymous.net/AxelDench.htmlAxel sent an e-mail to the moderator of the fan board about his experiences in the movie-making world, and it was cross-linked in this exchange. mb6.scout.com/fzaghoopsfrm1.showMessage?topicID=17156.topicClicking on the left-side tab for “Making Episode III 12” at the link below will bring up an interview with Peter Mayhew (original Chewbacca who has stayed with the character in all episodes) and next up, Axel Dench. Also footage near the end shows Axel (months later, with longer hair) in action during filming of the blue screen techniques used for the battle scene with Merumeru leading the charge of an All-Wookie Army. The Army is actually about a dozen actors (most of them Aussie and Kiwi pro ballers) in Wookie gear, replicated multiple times to create a crowd. movies.channel.aol.com/feature/starwars/episode_3_video.adp

What, Lucas feels he can get away with that because "all wookies look alike"? I know ... it's shocking inter-galactic racism of the worst sort. ;D We should storm the gates of the Lucas compound in your neck of the woods, SF. Is George still holed up out in Marin County?

Yes, he is. I've driven past the gate of Skywalker Ranch, located on Lucas Valley Road (no relation). But he's building a big building in the Presidio for his effects company, so I don't know how much work they'll do on the ranch.

Don't have the link - but funny comparison between sports stars and star wars characters on SI.com. AI is compared to Han Solo.

Couldn't recommend the first two prequels but I can for this installment. In fact I'll be seeing it again.
