I was only joking with you and I know. It's like the AAU tournaments, they guarantee us at least three games. In all seriousness, does anybody know why they schedule these first games against weak teams? I mean, I can maybe see it in AAU, I just don't think high-major teams have problems scheduling these types of opponents. Unless it's the sort of situation where the tournament pays for them to visit Georgetown instead of Georgetown paying? I guess saving money would be a pretty big incentive for most schools. Most of these big tournaments have kind of a "side" tournament for the low/mid majors. You'll see in the link below that there is a separate "regional title" awarded. Not sure why these tournaments have these opening round and regional round games, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's an agreement with the NCAA to provide early season tournament opportunities to low/mid majors. www.mauiinvitational.com/news/2016/10/19/general-maui-jim-maui-invitational-regional-games-matchups-announced.aspx

I hope this game allows us to shake off the jitters from the end of the last game, that we have the opportunity to refine the press a bit more and get our shooting touch back, and it gets us ready for Maui. Obviously, I also hope we win, and win comfortably.
Oregon is a very beatable team--they got crushed by Baylor albeit without Brooks--but we'll need be firing on all cylinders to get that W.

Thank god there is a game tonight. I'm not even over the MD loss, I can't imagine how the players and coaches feel.
Honestly, if we don't look closer to how we played against USC-U then UMD, I'll be disappointed and worried about Maui.
Finally, does anyone know the team's travel schedule to Maui? Assuming they travel tomorrow, 1.5 days before a game isn't too much time to adjust to the 5 hour time difference. If they're not traveling until Sunday, that will be questionable.

I would think that place would be packed with students tonight with it being on campus and the rarity of those games. As DFW stated, doesn't appear to be the case.
Hope they just get off to a slow start and then snap out of it.

We stink. Glad I didn't drive in from Delaware for this. . . Sure, we may still end up winning but this is not good basketball.
