Not sure if that's the kid since it was filmed with a potato but damn.
Hopefully someone can see him at a some Bullis games this winter. I'd sign that kid right now.

I don't believe he's related to Deke. But Deke has been instrumental in helping with Watara's transition to the states.

Facebook posts suggest Dikembe helped pave the way for the kid to come to the U.S....he towers over Deke in a picture of the two outside Bullis.
"Dikembe Mutombo added 18 new photos.Follow September 26 · We are very happy to see Watara arrived in the USA safely and he has been accepted at Bullis School. The MUTOMBO's family wish him the best. Thanks coach Bruce and the Bullis School. He is going to do well."

How much do you love Deke? What a great human being. Regardless of where the young man goes, I hope this opportunity works out for him and his family.

I understand slow playing this kid because we're still mentioned with some 5* centers but I think we should offer and lock this kid up ASAP. Even though he has some skill offensively, he can be presented as a project. Add in that we have enough open scholarships for '18 and will be losing Agau, I'd be fine taking 2 PF/Cs.

No. Right now he literally can't play at all. Doesn't even see the floor in high school because he can't get up and down the floor.

Great comparison to Tacko Fall. 2 years of working out here in the States ... presumably he'll get on the court next season. What's to lose? I agree, let's sign him up.

You take a commitment from him now and you signal to all other 2017 and 2018 recruits that you're not serious about playing an up-tempo style. Opposing recruiters will hammer that home to all fast guards/wings that might be interested in Georgetown. You think Keldon Johnson wants a plodding 7'5" guy running with him and Tremont Waters?
If this kid is as tight with Dikembe as he appears to be, you take nothing more than a silent commitment and you let the rest of the process play out.

I remember the two plodding 7' projects that came to GU and both made the NBA. The question is: does the kid have the cojones to work as hard as the other two to make the NBA?

Pascal Fleury made the league? He made the Harlem Globetrotters I said players with " cojones". Pascal was a soft player who transferred after two years.

Hard to turn down a 7'5" kid. I would take him and see if he develops. If not, don't play him. I hear you though- he is a plodder.
