We need to be recruiting at all times. Recruiting success will determine the future course of this program. We didn't build the new practice facility and hire Pat to sit at the bottom of the conference.

We need to be recruiting at all times. Recruiting success will determine the future course of this program. We didn't build the new practice facility and hire Pat to sit at the bottom of the conference. I could not agree more. Being out there on the road building relationships with these players/teams/AAU programs is what will decide if the Hoyas can get back to playing at a high level on a yearly basis. For years many people complained that JT3 did not cast a wide enough net looking for players. I could not be happier with this staff and how hard it seems they work on the recruiting trail. If the teams 3rd assistant needs to miss a game occasionally to build a relationship with a player they are targeting then I say go for it.

By the time five-star big man Hunter Dickinson and upper echelon four-star shooting guard Earl Timberlake are done at Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha in the spring of 2020, I'm betting that opponents in the Washington D.C. area are going to be sick of dealing with them. I sure as heck wouldn't want to have to coach or play against them. A throwback in the mold of maybe a Brad Miller, Dickinson isn't going to wow anybody with his athleticism. But, he's big, he's strong, he has a mean streak and he can play on the low block or soften defenses with his jump shooting. It's that mean streak that I love most about his game and he's very productive as evidenced by the 21 points and seven rebounds he put up in under 18 minutes while often going head to head with five-star senior big man Moses Brown of Archbishop Molloy. Also blessed with a bit of a mean streak, Timberlake reminds me some of a young Wayne Selden. He's physically strong, can take on and finish through contact, creates pretty well off the dribble and has the tools to be a sneaky good jump shooter. I also feel like he's a guy with a chance to be elite defensively because he can check multiple positions. He finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists of his own. Timberlake listed offers from Penn State, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Rhode Island, Providence and Wake Forest. He's been on campus at Georgetown, Maryland, Penn State and Virginia Tech. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-bossi-s-sunday-hoophall-classic-takeaways Timberlake -- who plays with Team Takeover in the summertime -- has seen the campuses of Georgetown, Maryland, Penn State and Virginia Tech and took a minute to break each of them down. Georgetown: "I was overwhelmed when I met Patrick Ewing and he offered me. My heart started beating really fast. He's one of my mom's all time favorite players because she's originally from New York and loves the Knicks." Penn State: "It was good. I think they are an up and coming program in the Big Ten. They've gotten some players from this area like Rasir Bolton and my Team Takeover guy Myles Dread." Maryland: "It was a good visit. Mark Turgeon and his staff, I really think they have something going over there so I'm going to keep watching them." Virginia Tech: "I visited Virginia Tech when I was a freshman, it was my first college visit. It was good, they were in the gym bumping, getting after it." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/2020-intro-top-35-guard-earl-timberlake

Need to be all over Timberlake and Dickinson. Both are stars.

Earl Timberlake is a must get 2020 recruit. Gotta keep the locals home. His mom is a new Yorker and big Ewing fan growing up...according to Eric bossi's article.

Amir Nesbitt – Virginia Academy – Boo Williams Nesbitt, a 6-foot-1, explained his games as a shooter but he says he has started to prove that he is able to score on all three levels. He also mentioned that he is training with coach Chris Rhone to work on his ball handling and his ability to finish around the basket. He has earned offers from North Texas, Hampton, and Stetson while having interest from ODU and Georgetown. elevatehoops.com/portfolio/2020-prospects-from-dcva-area-on-the-rise/

My favorite breakout guy from the National Hoopfest? Easy. 2020 SG Matthew Murrell of Memphis Whitehaven. The 6-foot-3 guard said Iowa State and Jacksonville State have offered a scholarship already. He also said Florida, Stanford and Missouri are interested.

UMD site says Maryland and Georgetown are recruiting Justin Lewis the hardest, and as mentioned on the last page, he's coming for the Cuse game. Lewis dominated inside with seven points, converting a three-point play to tie the game at 41 with Armani Walker hitting a jumper at the third-quarter buzzer to provide the Engineers with their first lead at 43-41. Lewis went on to score 14 points in the fourth quarter — a dunk, a 3-pointer, a three-point play and key free throws down the stretch — to close out the win. “I just didn’t want to take my foot off the pedal,” Lewis said. “There was so many times we could have gave up, but we kept pushing and kept pushing. A couple times down the stretch we turned it over and they were hitting good shots in our face, so we just had to keep it going and we did that.” West, who finished with 13 points, left with 5:39 to play in the third quarter after getting his fourth foul and didn’t return until there was 5:19 left in the game. “They took advantage of it by trying to get Lewis the ball and hats off to him — he was able to make plays for his team when they needed it,” Dunbar coach Cyrus Jones Sr. said. “We’ll get another opportunity to reach our goal [of winning the Baltimore City title]. This doesn’t stop anything we had planned for the year, so our guys just have to regroup. It’s only one game, so we have to put it behind us. … You hate to lose, but hats off to Poly.” P —Mims 6, Ali 4, Jones 1, Horton 12, Walker 6, Lewis 36. Totals: 24 12-22 65 www.baltimoresun.com/sports/high-school/bs-ba-va-sp-poly-dunbar-boys-basketball-0210-story.html

I very much hope you are right, I am just curious. He already has a Big East body and will be a superstar as his shot progresses.
