Sides are mixed on Karim Mane. It was not a good start for the Canadian talent. Two dozen NBA personnel were in attendance to see the five-star prospect who could enter his name into the draft. His opening day 12-point performance thanks to 1-of-8 shooting didn’t pass the eye test, but his 28 points and 10 rebounds affair on Sunday morning definitely helped his chances if he does hope to test the NBA waters in the spring. The feeling is that Mane will sign with a college but potentially test the pro waters. Coaches from Alabama, DePaul, Marquette, Maryland, Memphis and Texas A&M were on hand throughout the weekend. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/national-prep-showcase-top-takeaways

We are going to have a complete breakdown on Karim Mane tomorrow, but I do believe that he will sign with a college in the spring. Whether he actually sets foot onto campus next fall is the big question, because signing a National Letter of Intent does not guarantee enrollment. He could still test the NBA waters and, if he receives positive feedback, enter the NBA Draft. Mane has not been willing to speak about the NBA option much, so it's difficult to assess the likelihood of that possibility. His focus remains on his high school season and college recruitment, so we should have a better sense of where things stand once his season ends. I believe he wants to play college basketball next year, but NBA feedback could change that. Mane will visit Marquette on Jan. 4 and he visited Maryland over a year ago. Both programs dispatched coaches over the weekend to watch him during the National Prep Showcase. Mane could potentially visit DePaul in December, while Alabama, Memphis and Michigan State are also involved. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-ziaire-williams-hunter-dickinson-michigan-state

While it’s clear the NBA path is a serious option, it’s not a given that Mane will go that route. Mane, 19, told 247Sports there are seven schools recruiting him the hardest -- Marquette, DePaul, California, Memphis, Georgetown, Maryland, Michigan State and Alabama. Maryland’s Mark Turgeon and Alabama’s Nate Oats were both there to watch him on Sunday. “There’s like seven schools involved prioritizing me, they know what I want and they’re recruiting me to fill the spot,” Mane said. The only official visit Mane has taken to date was to Maryland in late May. His next trip is scheduled for Marquette the weekend of Jan. 3. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Karim-Mane-Preps-to-Pros-Marquette-Maryland-Memphis-Cal-Alabama-Michigan-State-Georgetown-DePaul-139197491/

CE: We have talked on and off about your recruitment over the past few weeks and I know that it isn’t on your mind a whole lot, but what schools have you noticed speaking with you the most often?
KM: As of right now, it has been Marquette, Michigan State, Alabama, DePaul, and a couple of others.
CE: So, right now, push comes to shove, you’re going to college?
KM: Yeah. That is what I am focused on, going to college.
CE: The NBA thing, that is there. Over 20 NBA teams came here to see you today. What is your thought process on that right now?
KM: That is a great opportunity and that is the main goal, but, as of right now, I am about going to college.
CE: What is going to have to push you over the edge to go to the NBA instead of college?
KM: I haven’t really thought about it. Academics is really important to me and my family so that is why I am only thinking about going to college right now. If there is an opportunity, then we would have to really think about it, but as of right now, all of my thoughts are about going to college.

Are schools worried about wasting their time because of the potential NBA path? KM: That has been a concern but, like I have told all the schools, me, right now, I am just focused on going to college and finishing my season right now, making sure that I grow as a basketball player and as a person. I am just focusing on this year and whenever it comes time to think about all of that, I will think about it. CE: So, right now, push comes to shove, you’re going to college? KM: Yeah. Dante Harris is a 2020 PG verbal commit. Yeah, I think we need a second PG. Mac, Dante, and Blair can't be our only guards next year.

Hopefully now they get back in contact with Noah farrakhan and try to get in the mix with Karim Mane

Verbal Commits lists 4 star PG Naseem Khaalid from South Carolina still on the line, with it between GU and Florida State. Jaden Stone a 4 star SG from Australia is still in the running, but doesn't look like he has narrowed anything down.

A competent coach with recruiting connections could have us in on some short-term and long-term PG options by early spring...

Again, not a PG but he didn't play in his junior year (last season) and is yet to suit up this season, due to injury. Going to be an elite grad transfer.

Hopefully now they get back in contact with Noah farrakhan and try to get in the mix with Karim Mane One of the top available prospects that is relatively wide open with his recruitment, Mane has an official visit set up to Marquette for Jan. 4, but could potentially visit DePaul later this month. He also visited Maryland earlier this year. Alabama, Memphis, Michigan State and a handful of others remain involved. I think Mane will attend college next fall instead of entering the NBA Draft, I also would not be surprised if, after signing this spring, he looks for a draft promise and possibly receives it. There are a few NBA franchises that will have multiple second round draft picks in June’s draft. I don’t see anyone taking him in the first round but I wouldn’t be shocked if he received a second-round promise with guarantees included within his contract. Would that be enough to intrigue him to skip college entirely? Either way, look for Mane to take a handful of official visits in the coming months before signing in April. My guess is that Marquette is the team to beat. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-j-t-thor-karim-mane-greg-brown

DUNCANVILLE, Texas -- Last week, we tabbed unsigned senior Detrick Reeves as one who could see his stock soar this winter. Over the weekend, he showed why at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest. A tough as nails scorer from Marion (Ark.) High, the 6-foot-2 Reeves has visited Arkansas State and Missouri State officially and is trying to prove himself at the highest level while making sure he gets the chance to play. “I want to go somewhere that I will be able to contribute to the team early and get better as a player," Reeves told Rivals.com. "I’m gritty, I bring a lot of energy and I do whatever I can do to help the team win. “My biggest strength is scoring. I can also play three levels. Right now I’m working on going left more and getting more active with my left hand. I’m a combo type guard.” 247sports.com/Player/Detrick-Reeves-46083621/

Is there anything against the NCAA rules that states that a team cannot recruit while at an away game? Dallas has a few good players from time to time and KJ Pruitt is close enough for a look. I'd like to see PE grab a big PG or CB to go along with Dante Harris for next year.

I think you need to go Juco or grad transfer at PG for 2020 now. Can’t hope that a combination of two freshman can get the job done.
