Tremendous work by the players and coaches to bounce back from a comprehensive defeat to this team less than two weeks ago. After some halftime adjustments, the Hoyas really were on the front foot and had the better of the match. One more hurdle before that elusive piece of hardware finally finds a home on the Hilltop!

Great win against our year in, year out nemesis. Nolan made great adjustments at half to not only get back in the game, but to dominate in the second half and two OTs. PKs are always a crap shoot, but our ladies drilled five in a row. Interesting PKers---3 experienced players, one sub, one frosh. Well done. These ladies certainly know how DePaul felt after PK #5. Been there, done that.
We seem to have Marquette's number, but they are always a grind. Not fast, but physical as can be. No matter the result, the ice baths wait. Go Hoyas
Game is at 10 AM EST---be there and support. If not it is on Fox Sports 1

Thanks Russky, I'll be watching (although most likely still recovering from a wedding with a 6 hour open bar!).

Whoops, and thanks for the correction Russky. Sorry for the confusion, sitting here on the West Coast typing in our time along with "EST". Go Hoyas

On another beautiful, warm November day in our globally-warmed Nation's Capital, the Hoyas turned in a clinical, comprehensive performance. At the rate things were going, Marquette wouldn't have scored until sometime halfway through Trump's sixth term.
Seriously, though, that was a textbook performance. They were the faster, stronger, smarter, and all-around better team. On the flip side, Markus Roeders and his staff clearly deserved the Coaching Staff of the Year honor for leading that team to a #1 seed and the tournament finals. Granted, the Hoyas match up against Marquette better than they do against any other team in the top half of the conference, but still - they had "just happy to be here" written all over them.
Onward to the Hoyas highest NCAA seed ever and hopefully lots more soccer this year!

One game at a time but our #2 seed in the NCAA brackets sets us up for a potential deep run in the tourney. Starting with St Francis (PA) next Sunday, with wins it projects Rutgers next (we have beaten), then Virginia (also a G'town victim), and the Stanfurd in the quarters (tough, tough, tough), but that buys a ticket to San Jose and the semis/finals which should be Florida or U$C, and finally WVU. And that folks is the Road to the Final Four. The big speed bumps start at Stanfurd, but every game needs total focus. Go Hoyas & congrats on the BEAST title
