Michelle Obama (2008) vs Melanie Trump (2016/Last Night) Speech
Who said it better??
Edit note: A thing like this is better than watching a movie...you can't make it up.

Obviously Michele said it better because she said it first. Just like Deval Patrick was better than Barack...

The first line of Donald Trump's speech will be: "Gotcha."

I was starting to get suspicious about Melania's speech when she kept talking about the reality of growing up a black woman in America.

Trump should start off his speech "Four score and seven years ago..."

This whole convention is turning into a Circus sideshow and I wanted to vote for this guy as opposed to our alternative.

Obviously Michele said it better because she said it first. Just like Deval Patrick was better than Barack... There are fundamental differences between the situations that are worth recognizing. Obama also did, in fact, acknowledge his use of Patrick's lines. www.nytimes.com/2008/02/19/us/politics/19campaign.html?_r=0

This all would have been a non-issue, tempest-in-a-teapot situation had the Trump campaign simply acknowledged that they'd made a mistake. It would have blown over by lunch hour Tuesday. Instead, the denials of plagiarism in the face of clear evidence has caused this to take on a life of its own.
Additionally, for my "esteemed" governor to assert that 93% of the speech was original is an insult. What if any of us had been accused of plagiarism on a submission to a professor, and used that defense?

"gee your honor, 93% of the evidence we presented was legit. We only fabricated 7%"

It is shockingly bad when compared with a Secretary of State exposing classified material and then out right lying about what she did.

I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to begin with the hypothesis that there are many liars on both sides of the aisle. Doesn't mean we need to compare the relative levels of falsification to deplore the overall situation.
Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember when politics were an honorable calling. Many, many moons ago.

Melanie Trump's speech writher Meredith McIver takes blame for the plagiarism of Mrs. Obama 2008 speech.
Some people are questioning if a Meredith McIver even exists.
