OK, Assuming that you are correct, then a friend, uncle, co-conspirator could buy the assault rifle.

Now you're expanding the size of a plot from a lone wolf to a cell. At some point someone starts asking questions, like "Why don't you buy it yourself?" or "What do you need that for?"

They're all out to get us, and they're all in cahoots and protecting each other! And Obama sympathizes with them and Crooked Hillary didn't bomb them all back to the Stone Age when she was Secretary of State! SAD!

From what I've read, spouses can be watchlisted without any suspicion that they are involved : theintercept.com/2014/07/23/blacklisted/Even deceased spouses can be watchlisted after they have died in case their identities are repurposed. I wasn't asking for a general answer, but how, specifically, do you know that this guy's wife would have, in fact, been prevented from buying a firearm?

Yes, let's make fun of people who have legitimate concerns about the overreach and intrusion of government. That'll foster a productive debate. It's not like the concern about the abuse of power by the government is a concept that's older than the country or anything. P.S. Your post needs more exclamation points.

The point that I think that both KC and I are making, is that a terror watch list is probably not going to stop a potential terrorist from obtaining an assault rifle.

I put the cookies above the refrigerator not because I think it'll stop all possibility that my kids can get to them, but because it makes it harder and makes them think about their decisions a little more.

Example please. Well, there are a lot of people that think maybe kchoya posts things like that. A lot of people think maybe he doesn’t want to know about how he comes off. I happen to think that he just doesn’t know what he’s doing, but there are many people that think maybe he doesn’t want to acknowledge that he posts things like that. He doesn’t want to see what’s really happening. And that could be.

I am not a die-hard gun rights person since I am a believer in original intent regarding the Constitution and its Amendments. I do not think the writers of the 2nd Amendment intended arms to mean such things as shoulder-launched guided missiles, machine guns, flame throwers, or other weapons of today like assault weapons. So I have little concern for efforts to limit them. However, I have one question for those who want to limit them: with the number of such weapons now in the U.S., how long will it take for them to disappear in the country?

We need to build a huge firewall around this site to keep the outside posters away. They are nothing but murderers and rapists anyway

The Orlando slaying would not have happened with normal gun control laws on several levels. But most importantly, this was a person on an FBI watch list that by law couldn't be linked to him buying guns which he bought after being on those lists. That's because the NRA thought to fight the fact that maybe someone could end up on a list inappropriately and not be able to buy a gun. That might violate that individuals rights more than working through that to figure out the right answer. I'm not a person against the right to bear arms within reason but need to crack down and figure out it's not our own government we should fear but the bad guys who will use our laws against us.

Good to know that Loretta Lynch is redacting the 911 calls and transcripts of same to scrub references to Islamic terror so as to avoid "re-victimizing" the victims and families.
What continues to be victimized, unfettered, is the truth...

He was NOT on the watch list. That is part of the problem. I still would like anyone to explain to me why any private citizen needs to own an assault rifle whose only purpose is to kill lots of people??
