Great article. Glad to have this kid on the roster...have we checked his growth plates? Could be over 7ft by the time he stops growing.

A quick internet search shows that he was recruited by unnamed Ivy and Patriot League schools, as well as some D-3 schools with academic reputations. He reportedly wants to be a doctor. Is he walking-on, or is this a scholarship?

Great article. Glad to have this kid on the roster...have we checked his growth plates? Could be over 7ft by the time he stops growing. I believe his father had pituitary gigantism or acromegaly.

Leave it to this board to pull some negative out of a positive at each and every opportunity. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt about the knee-jerk "negative out of a positive comment." I mentioned nothing negative about this recruit who is a nice addition as a walk-on. A poster mentioned the proverbial "growth plates". His father had a serious disease that may effect his mortality rate and certainly can lead to significant morbidity. In this case if you know about his father's medical condition then any jokes about growth plates are out of place. Feel free to educate yourself on acromegaly and gigantism.

I meant no disrespect to the Muresan family, it was more that this is a 17-18 year old that could continue to grow. I had no idea about Georghe's medical history but he obviously has strong height genes regardless of any diseases (since his sons are much taller then average).

The growth plate comment is mentioned every time we sign a tall player (Lichoya). This time though there is some context I just threw out there. Nonetheless, nice to have a 6'9" walk-on!
