www.boston.com/sports/colleges/football/articles/2005/05/05/a_10_football_is_sacked/As part of the Atlantic Coast Conference-Big East settlement, nine football games have been scheduled between teams in each conference from 2008-12, including a visit by Miami to Pittsburgh. Other games are home-and-home series between Florida State and West Virginia, North Carolina and Rutgers, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh, and Virginia and Connecticut ...

Where's the self-respect? It's like suing for wrongful termination and instead of asking for money, you ask for your job back.
They didn't want you. Get the hint.

They'll use the old BS about future schedules being done 4+ years in advance, but the real reason the games aren't until 2008 is the fact that Temple is playing everybody else in the ACC until then.

There's a three week sequence in October when Miami's schedule is: South Florida Duke at Temple So let's just say I'm not really concerned about whether those conflict with GU games on campus. And look, I love the Big East conference and its basketball programs and Georgetown's teams. But as a fan of Miami football, face it, the Big East football conference last year was an embarrassment. I got way more entertainment value on a week to week basis from the ACC football games than I ever did from the Big East--especially since Virginia Tech came along too. I do think that's a funny part of the settlement though, having those guaranteed games (UVA and UConn--YEEHAW)!! Although I'm pretty sure FSU and WVU have played in a bowl game recently--and didn't Bowden used to coach at WVU?

The elder Bowden was hung/burned in effigy on campus in his first couple of seasons for his record there.
