On a positive note, the one thing that I have enjoyed watching this year is Derrickson. What he lacks in quickness he makes up with being fundamentally sound. He has to lead the team in charges taken and it seems like he's one of the few guys in college basketball who boxes out on a consistent basis. His shot has been a little hot and cold but overall I think he's had a really solid freshman year.

Always try to see the Hoyas at least once a year and picked this game some time ago. It's a good thing I didn't do like I did last year and just wait to go see them in the post season. I'm not optimistic, but I'll be cheering them on. I guess they need it. |

Reynolds is playing better. I think we lose by 15 although maybe there is another Tre Campbell sighting.

Ill be interested to see if Govan can keep it up. I would also like to see more Mourning, even if our starters aren't in foul trouble early. Most importantly, give me 40 solid minutes of basketball.

X will be out for revenge after we beat them there. this could be very ugly if the guys are just going through the motions.

I guess they need it. ]] I'll be there cheering and berating the refs. Friend of mine from Xavier will also be in attendance, but fortunately at a different seat location. I gave him some gentle razzing after our upset, recognizing our overall trajectory wasn't necessarily going to be good. Hope the student section surprises me but am pessimistic. |

They did a lot more than go through the motions last night- I thought from an effort perspective that was one of their best showings. Really? Best showings of effort? Maybe a few players, but DSR and Tre were better of standing on the offensive side of the court as they played no defense and looked like they both mailed it in. |

I just was using that term 9not about the team, but about the individual player, whose stats have definitely been better since he became sixth man again) because the TV announcers during the SH game said Peak has said himself that he preferred coming of the bench, so it might be he feels that he doesn't have to walk on eggshells avoiding fouls if he doesn't start. If the player feels more comfortable doing that, then I think it makes sense to do it that way -- start somebody else and then get Peak in as fast as possible -- don't wait 5 minutes or whatever, one or two possessions, tops.
