It appears going forward that there is a new starting:
(OCC) The original lineup: DSR LJ Peak Issac Copeland Marcus Derrickson Bradley Hayes
(Start of BE Play) Lineup: DSR Tre Campbell Issac Copeland Marcus Derickson Bradley Hayes
(Derrickson's injury & Xavier victory) Lineup: DSR Tre Campbell Issac Copeland Reggie Cameron Bradley Hayes

(Derrickson's injury & Xavier victory) Lineup: DSR Tre Campbell Issac Copeland Reggie Cameron Bradley Hayes Is Marcus injury-free now? Maybe he's not which explains the 0 pts in 2 games and 23 mins.

I don't know if MD is "injury free", or just working his way back. I sure hope he returns to his former highly productive self soon. We need a lot more from our forwards than we've been getting recently. Reggie's contributions have been a welcome surprise - and desperately needed.

I hope for more lineup switches and substitutions early and often.

I think it is becoming clear that Coach is not afraid to go with the hot hand, and conversely to pull out guys who aren't producing or giving full effort and focus. That has not always been the case, of course.
If Ike continues to struggle, any chance Coach tries bringing him off the bench to try to shake things up more?

I wouldn't mind a starting lineup of DSR-Tre-Reggie-Doc-Hayes That requires Derrickson getting back on track though. The last two games, Ike and Doc have been about par.

I think the best thing about III's coaching this year has been his willingess to move around lineups that dont even include regular starters. To his credit, he will sit Ike if he needs to.

Really more of an issue for our rotation than the starting lineup...but I wonder whether at some point here we will get a look at Mourning at PF playing next to Hayes or Govan. He has looked awfully sharp to me in his limited minutes.

I agree that Mourning has done enough to get some more minutes. He is very active and seems to have a good nose for the ball. He's not strong enough to guard most centers, and he's probably more of a 4 at this point. Still, pretty excited by his potential. He may be a player.

Trey has the mobility to guard the 4, and also appears to have a very servicable 10 foot jumper. It would certainly increase our options.

given the right game situation I would like to see govan and morning on the floor at the same time. morning bring more of a four, I would think defensive lane coverage with mourning being potentially a tough weak side defender could possibly prove to be possible potent lane coverage when we are getting constant lane attacks. again given the right situations.

I personally love the idea of Derrickson, Peak and Govan coming off the bench. It's nice having that fire power. I also like what Reggie is bringing to the starting line up...his 5 rebounds and 5 assists versus Xavier is exactly what we need out of him.

Absolutely no reason that Isaac Copeland should start the next game. He does not deserve it as bad as he has been pretty much for all of January.

Derrickson doesn't deserve to either, so do you go small with LJ at the 3 and Reggie at the 4? Probably what I would do at this point, or go with Kaleb at the 3.

This really demonstrates the problem. I am all good with benching Copeland, but we really don't have anybody to take his place. I don't disagree with JT3 holding him out for much of the second half, but Cameron/Kaleb didn't play much better.

Our best 5 is DSR/Peak/Ike/Doc/Govan. If not starting or benching some of them will make them play better, fine, that's something JT3 should know better than any of us. But as much as people who wish sports worked like a morality play like to pretend otherwise, you win more basketball games with your most talented guys on the floor, and there's not a lot of season left to teach lessons.

Agree that we are really missing Agau and White right now!

It's not about teaching lessons. It is about the crystal clear fact that Copeland is NOT one of our 5 best players right now. He hurts us when he is on the floor. It also hurts us that the alternatives are lukewarm at best.
